I got my acceptance letter for Cypress College Fall 2010

Did anyone else get one. I'm looking to get to know some people for a study-group. All my friends got in last semester.

so excited to meet everyone on the 12th!

did anyone get their uniform at the buena park malll? is that the best bet?

Nope, I'm still sitting here too. I guess this means that I am going to Goldenwest for sure now. Bummer since it is really far away and cypress was sooooo close to my house!

No, don't give up until the first day of class! Go to the family night and the first day of class, some people will just not show if they chose another school. they have to hold their spot until the first day even if they don't attend orientation or family night! This is what ---- in counseling told me.

I just got my letter today, friday.

You can go to family night without being officially accepted?

I was planning on showing up the first day of class regardless.

Just curious. What is the exact phone number you guys are contacting them with? I tried several times when I got my alternate letter to contact them and could only get voicemail and no call back. I haven't tried lately, but I would really like to speak to somebody over there.

Man we are gonna have a busy 2 weeks now to get ready.

I forgot what they said about the CPR thing. How much did it cost? Whats the details on that?

Does anyone know what the class schedule looks like yet? I am still trying to decide if I am going to try and crash the first class on the 16th, or just go to Goldenwest. I know when my classes at goldenwest are, and when they do the clinicals, but dont know about cypress's schedule. Since I have kids, the schedule is important to know ahead of time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The schedule is not bad at all.

Classes are just mon and tues and then I remember from orientation that clinicals are starting after the 3rd week and they said would be either 2 6hr days or 1 12hr day, most likely wednesday and thursday.

The required nursing classes are 8.5 units.

Here is the schedule for the required nursing classes only:

The 1st 8 wks: (8/16-10/15) The 2nd 8 wks:

m 8:00-11:35 8:00-10:50

1:00-1:50 1:00-1:50

tu 8:00-9:50 8:00-11:15A

LAB 12:00-1:50

Hospital Lab 10 hours per week TBA. 8/16-10/15

Plus 8.5 clinical hours per week TBA. 10/18-12/14

If you take the recommended classes as well, its still mon and tues but you stay until around 4 or 5.

If anyone hasn't got accepted yet, there should be at least one more spot because they made me defer until January because my baby is gonna be born any day now so I have to wait.

So, just hold on to your hopes and if you still dont get called by day one, go to class anyway.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will still try to crash on the 16th, GW has classes later in the afternoon, and I prefer mornings. Good luck with your baby!
