I was one of the ones that they called on the first day of class, so dont loose hope! Ncamp- You will stay on the chronological and points lists, so if you dont get in for the spring, you should have a really good shot for fall. That is what happened to me last year. I was not accepted for spring and was an alternate for the fall and still got in.

I dont work because I did not work before the program started. I have 2 small kids, so between them and school I dont have time!

just to clarify the extra 5 points- health care experience, degree in health care or foreign language gets you 5 points. extra classes and life experiences are worth 1 pt each up to 5 pts. So far the program is fantastic. The instructors are all really great and super helpful. My clincal time is at Placentia Linda, but the other sites this semester are St jude, los alimitos/anaheim memorial, and saddleback in san clemente.

I am in the program and started this semester. I was an alternate and had 25 pts. there are 50 in my class, 40 off the points list and 10 people off of the chronological list. Keep in mind, if you dont get picked for the spring semester, you will have a great shot at starting in the fall. dont get too wrapped up in all of this. It sounds like you guys have all your ducks in a row and should not have a problem getting into the program. even if you are an alternate and dont get in this semester, you will stay on the list for fall.

Sept 1-15. You have to apply in person at the Health Science office. make sure you have all of your transcripts with you, they prefer that you submit everything at once. Apply early, they give each application a number, so if there is a tie in points, they go with the applicant that got their application in first. good luck!

Congrats lkirchy! I just left the program because I got into Cypress at the last minute. I have the med-surg book, 2 extra small uniforms (tunic and pants) and the 3 patches from CNSA if you want to buy them from me. The book is 180.00 at the bookstore, but I will sell it for 150.00 with the patches included. the uniforms come from Dove professional (the only place the school allows you to get uniforms from). the tops are 42.00 each and the pants are 31.oo each on the website, I will sell them at cost so you dont have to pay shipping or tax (156.00 for both sets). you can go on the dove website (doveapparel.com) and put in your dimensions to get your size to see if these will fit you. they take about 3-4 weeks to ship from dove, so if mine fit, you will be ready for clinicals in 2nd week!

Hey Spring of 2011 class- I was going to go to Goldenwest for fall, but at the last minute was offered a spot in the cypress 2010 fall class, so I am going to go there. However, I had already bought my Med-surg books and opened them up so I can not return them. I also have the 3 school patches for the uniforms. the Books are $180 at the bookstore and the patches are 15.00 for the 3 from CNSA. I am willing to sell all of them together for $150. Let me know if you are interested in buying them!!

Does anyone know what the class schedule looks like yet? I am still trying to decide if I am going to try and crash the first class on the 16th, or just go to Goldenwest. I know when my classes at goldenwest are, and when they do the clinicals, but dont know about cypress's schedule. Since I have kids, the schedule is important to know ahead of time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

to apply, your anat, phys and micro have to be within the last 5 years. After you have applied and are on the waiting list, then the prereq's dont expire, but they have to be current (w/i 5 yrs) WHEN you apply. I dont know about the lvn/rn thing, you can contact ------ at Cypress with those questions. She is the health science councelor and she is very helpful. Good Luck!

Nope, I'm still sitting here too. I guess this means that I am going to Goldenwest for sure now. Bummer since it is really far away and cypress was sooooo close to my house!

Have not heard either. The letter I got saying I was an alternate said we would be notified of our status in July, so I anxiously await the mailman everyday!

Hey MilaniSid- I am going to be in the Fall 2010 class too! I was on the website the other day to double check the time and place for orientation on the 29th, but they have changed the flier for the Spring 2011 class already. Do you know what time and where on campus the orientation is? I emailed the nursing office, but have not heard back yet. Thanks for the help and I cant wait to get started!!

I am confused on the financial aid though. when I clicked on the tab on the documents page, it took me to another page on the site and I could not figure out when and where to apply.
