I got my acceptance letter for Cypress College Fall 2010

Hey everyone, so TEAS testing is where on Saturday? I totally forgot to ask and I don't think it was mentioned. Was it mentioned at the very end? I swear I was paying attention!

It was mentioned at the end and it's on the paperwork you were initially sent. Sat. 8am-noon TE3-222

Thanks CAguy. I'm interested in the study group you are putting together. Can't send u a pm about it, looks like I haven't 'earned' being able to do that yet. It'd be nice to have a few ppl to attend the skills lab with on a regular basis =).

Hi, You may want to look at ratemyprofessors.com as a resource for comparing the schools u are considering. You can look up the school first then list out the departments. On one page you'll see you all the nursing profs listed and their ratings, etc. Ive noticed some have students commented about the school's program itself on individual prof ratings.

good point lol. did you guys apply elsewhere besides cypress and GW? I'm trying to mainly get into Cypress but I want to apply anywhere possible. I'm also concerned some ofthe prereqs for diff nursing programs for ADN might be slight different

When did Cypress say they needed our TEAS score?

I should have written that down...

and do we really need to pay ATI $20 to send it or can we just print it out and hand it to them?

I am also an alternate for cypress, I will see you all on the 19th.
I also got accepted to Golden West, but not until January and I am so confused on which to choose. I would rather go to Golden West, but I don't want to wait that long.
Does anyone know which schools are harder, different dropout rates, anything?

Laurenn- have you talked to ------- at Goldenwest? she offered me a spot for spring, but when I called back to accept and let it slip that I was an alternate at Cypress, she totally turned on me and told me she was not sure if she wanted me in her program or not if I was not going to be serious about their school. I am totally confused as to what to do now and worried that I am no longer on the list because I ****** her off. I talked to the dean, and she did not want to get too involved because ------- is in charge of all the paperwork. It sucks that they offer admission so early in the year for admission 8 months away. If she offers you a spot, say thank you and sign up right away or you might get black listed like I think I am. :crying2:

yea I already accepted the spot for spring at GWC, but I really want to get Cypress this fall, too bad they wont tell us until July.

I wish you the best, maybe we will both get into Cypress! haha

hey everyone! i'm planning to apply at cypress this fall for spring of 2011 and i'm a bit confused on how it works. i hope you can help me. what's the breakdown of the points system for the general education requirements? i'm not done with 3 of them- P.E., speech, and the arts requirement. and since you send them your application in september, can you update throughout the fall semester? i mean your points... b/c i was planning on taking a 2 month speech and p.e. class. would those points get added on to my total (assuming i finish them by let's say oct)? or would they have already chosen the students for the spring slots?

Read through this entire post, I detailed the points. As to your second question, the simple answer is "no". You can only apply and update once a year now at cypress.

Heyjazzy- they only allow you to update and apply the first 10 working days of september, so if your classes end in Oct, you will have to wait until 2011 to update your points. You can still apply this September and get on the chronological waiting list, then update yourself next year and hopefully move up on the points list. btw- you have to apply and update in person.

Has anyone else recieved their TEAS scores yet? I took mine on Saturday, and they said we should be able to view them by Monday morning, I haven't seen anything yet on the website.

Nothing yet, and it's effing torture! I called them this AM. They said that results are up within 24 hrs. 24hrs I assume from the time they opened up this morning. Im anxious and checking constantly.

when I talked to the lady at ATI, she said it would be 2 business days from the date they got the tests. You probably did fine!!! it is not that hard and Cypress does not look at the score anyways! You just have to pass in their eyes and passing is not that hard. My thought is that if you had enough points to get in, then you probably did just fine on the test. stinks that you did not take the web based test. Goldenwest did the test on the computer and we got our results immediatly.
