I finished classes with a 4.0 GPA and felt so confident about passing NCLEX. Now I am down to less than a week,have only gone through about 1500 Saunders questions ( just got the book and didn't realize I could schedule so quick!), and I feel completely unprepared!! I watched some ATI videos, did the online ATI practice tests but have lost all confidence. What happened and how do I get it back?? I need to go in with a positive attitude! EEK!

it does happen. all you have to do is calm dowm, take a deep breath and FOCUS on how to answer questions correctly. doesnt matter how many questions you have done so far, what matters most is how much knowledge you have earned, that you have read rationales and that you have found out how to tackle tricky nclex questions. try to concentrate. you can do it. believe in you self. and goodluck.
Thanks! :)

welcome to the butterfly club; this is normal before the big day but as stated earlier try to calm yourself perhaps by doing things you enjoy in between; you will be just fine but pray also. you'll be fine. good luck

If you do not feel confident, then delay your exam. Most have butterflies, but the final outcome is up to you.
The NCLEX exam is not like anything that you have ever seen in school, and will not be going over the same material again. They are interested to see that you know what to do with the information that you learned in school, think of it as "A common sense exam with the ABCs thrown in".
The question for you is how comfortable are you with that? If you do not feel like you have prepared enough, then that is up to you.
Best of luck with your exam.

Fear not! Here is my story. It was 1986. One long bus ride and two full days later of having arrived in the state's capital and sitting for the exam WAYYYYY back then filling in those irritating bubbled answers with the trusty ol' #2 pencil(!), being monitored constantly by the circulating attendants to make sure no one was cheating....I realized in the midst of all my angst....if I don't know it by now...(it being enough to pass...) then I need to fail and have to go back and refresh and sit for it again. If you don't know it by this time and with such a great GPA, you are probably OVERstudying in your review. It certainly sounds like it to me. You should really try to hit on high spots: commonly ordered labs with requisite nursing interventions, quickie reviews of each body system as a brush up in A & P;
dosage calulations; medications and their common dosages; things like that, maybe? That's probably what I'd do IF you insist on studying some more! My goodness! It sounds like with 1500 questions already reviewed PLUS that great GPA...that you're already as prepared as you'll ever be. There IS such a thing as OVERstudying, you realize! Be gentle to yourself. Take deep breaths. Don't overload those neuronal circuits with too much info!
Good luck! God Bless You....!
Thanks so much! I am going to take your advice and review lab values and procedures. I probably am going overboard but with only a few days left, I am starting to panic

Just saw this and Achoo, I am so with you! I too had a 4.0, my exit comprehensive came back with a 96% chance of passing NCLEX, and I have been working in Saunders. BUT, my nerves really kicked in one I scheduled that appointment to test. At this point, all I can do is review and do relaxation things.
My best to you, you WILL make it through and pass that test!
