Is this normal? I did so well in A&P I, but after having the summer off from it, I feel like I have forgotten somethings. Like some of the muscles, and even some of the bones! Is this normal? Did this happen to any of you guys?

I feel the same way! I was beginning to worry that I will have forgotten all of my nursing stuff! I think once you get back into it all of the important stuff will come back. Man, it sure was a long summer!!! I LOVED A&P, but trust me, I don't remember all of the bones and muscles either. It is just a very intense class, and the info fades quickly when you are not using it as much.

Good im not alone!!!! Yeah it has been a long summer and I even have the Fall off from anatomy and anything nursing related. I start the progtam in January. But i know that since we studied so hard for Anatomy, it will all come back to us once we are back in the environment. Good Luck to us all

Specializes in Operating Room.

At the risk of repeating myself in multiple posts.....ooops sorry.....lol

Go to my site, or others......http://www.nursingjourney.com. Do the powerpoint quizzes. I have them for the muscles, etc. That will help to refresh on some of the muscles. We didn't have to know all of them in our class, so I didn't make the powerpoints on all, but many, many, many are covered.

Specializes in Telemetry/Med Surg.

Totally normal. You think you have forgotten it but when it comes up again, say in clinical or your studies, you'll be surprised how much you actually know and remember.

I felt like this when I was in school also. At the end of our Junior and beginning of the Senior year it really started coming together and making alot of sense.

When I started working med-surg after graduating is when I really began to feel like I understood. There is nothing like life experience.

It is normal. I have forgotten a lot when I look at my flashcards...but if I go back and do the end of chapter quizzes I can still pick out the right answers :wink2:

You will be SOOO surprised. It was 8 years between A&P I and A&P II for me and I got incredible "flashbacks". :rotfl:
