  1. I've had my own problem with HR. I ended up taking my resume to the DON and was hired on the spot. So I'd say it was worth a try. Good luck to you.
  2. The Lasix will get rid of the fluid and thus lower the pressure.
  3. I live in Alabama when I am not in school in Florida. Graduation is in May and it would be convenient to take the NCLEX here in Florida. Does it matter that I will be practicing in Alabama? Are the two in any way connected?
  4. Nursing student here. In our last clinical rotation (psych), the instructors had us write a journal each week and include an entry on how we "took care of ourselves" each week. I was curious what you do for yourselves "in the real world" to keep yourself sane?
  5. I think that was a typo. I think she meant "Chart" not "Chat"
  6. I'm looking for input on a topic for a class project with an emphasis on avocacy. Suggestions?
  7. Thanks Kelly. I'll do that.
  8. I'm just looking for some input on a topic for a presentation we are giving at school with emphasis on advocacy. Any suggestions?
  9. Clueless nursing student here. :uhoh21: Our group in class is to do a presentation on the prevention of pressure ulcers. I know patients should be turned/repositioned but that's where my knowledge ends. Anything creative that I may be able to share? Thanks in advance.
  10. Yeah. They told me to lay off the caffeine and just drink water. I work in a hot kitchen so I drink alot of fluid. Mainly tea and water.
  11. I have been accepted into a Nursing program and have taken two drug tests. Both have come back "outside the parameters". Too dilute to read. I don't understand why this is happening. But yesterday they told me I didn't even have to stay for orientation. They will have to convene the board about me. I'm crushed. I pleaded with them to allow me to do a blood test. "We'll see." Can you give me some reason this test could be doing this?

  13. DATE RECIEVED: May 26 PROGRAM: BSN SCHOOL: University of West Florida STATE: Florida WHEN: Fall semester
  14. You will find that the youngins will seek you out because of your commitment. I actually had a 20something groan at me at registration..."Ohhh, you old people...you be comin' to class "all focused", makin' A's, throwin' the curve off...". That still makes me smile. Because it's true. We have all that crap that comes in our 20's (or in my case 30's) out of the way. School is now a priority. We can excell. Yeah us! Good luck to you. I'm in Micro now. It's consuming. It's fascinating. I'm having to WORK for my A. But it's do-able. Hang in There. Older is GOOD.
