Is this normal? I did so well in A&P I, but after having the summer off from it, I feel like I have forgotten somethings. Like some of the muscles, and even some of the bones! Is this normal? Did this happen to any of you guys?

really? i would not be a nurse for that pay that jhh pays. it is ridiculously low. all the hospitals around me also give raises and sign on bonuses. i just can't justify working there for only a coupld dollars more than what i would be making as an lpn at the other hospitals. maybe the nursing recruiter was wrong with what she told me, but it was lower than umd and everywhere else i have looked into

Chemistry is another class that you are either going to love or hate as well. I really hated it, but I worked by butt off to get a good grade in it. I just hated the fact that there were so many "rules" to be followed, but yet they could be broken!!

I would prefer UMD, only because JHH is supposed to be this top notch hospital, yet the staff is paid a lot less than other hospitals. Also, you even have to pay them for parking, etc. We have a hospital in Delaware that gives you free health benefits, gym memberships, help with daycare, and pays like $3 an hour more than them! I was so shocked!

Yes, JHH is not know for a good salary. They do have excellent health benefits, as well as an extra secure area, but if you drive they charge like $100 a month for parking. I wanted to work there, but after I talked to the nursing recruiter I was really turned off by JHH I do like Baltimore Shock Trauma, or UofM

I took mine last September, and I had bought the NLN book and studied like there was no tomorrow. I got my highest in the Chemistry section. Ours everything was times, and the guy was right on the minute with you. I think the vocab took the longest because of the short stories. I would suggest when doing the vocab to do all of the questions and save the short stories for last. Math was really hard for me, and I thought I actually did my best in that but it showed I did the worst in that. I have to say I had just passed the NLN. I think by a few points, but hey, as long as you pass :)

It really doesn't matter to me that I spelled it wrong. There are a million other words I have spelled wrong in A&P. But what does it matter that I have not reposted to my previous thread? Yes, I may post and then not post again on it, but I do come back and read it. It's just hard to have enough time to get on here much because I work 2 jobs now and go to school, so you can imagine why I am not on here as much as the rest of you.

Our school is the same way. It is only because the waiting list is so long for the clinicals. This is probably why they have the nursing shortage because people do not want to go to school for 4 years for a 2 year degree. I only wish that my degree at the end would say 4 years instead of 2 years.

Someone is telling me that some schools buy cadivas. It doesn't matter wether they are left to science or not. Isn't that illegal? I know where I live you only get a cadiva if they donated their body to science. So then this guy says they give the bodies that belong to immigrants to the schools. I find this hard to believe. Please advise me on what you know about this issue

I just started Intro to Chemistry, and am having a horrible time!! I feel so stupid in this class!! If anyone is really good at chemistry, I could use your help. We are doing conversions, like 12 nanometers to centimeters. How in the world do you go about getting an answer for that? Thanks for any help you can give me! I went out today and bought a cliffnotes for chemistry, and maybe that will help me out.

I totally agree!!! It definately takes constant studying time to get it! I carried a 96 the whole way through A&P, but I failed one test with a 72 and it dropped me to a B. I was so dissappointed and emailed my professor about it because I carried that A the whole way. But like she said, I should be proud of my B. I guess I am. I miss my A though!

The price of homes everywhere seems to be crazy. I am thinking of moving to NV when I finish nursing school, but to me living there is much cheaper than living where I do. I live near the beach, so a mobile home with a small piece of land is $200K. I cannot afford to live here more than likely. Even condos start at $600k-millions

I am thinking of relocating to that area when I am finished school. I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what their RN's start off there? Thanks

Hi guys I am in A&P I and have a question on 3rd degree burn. We are told by the book and instructor that 3rd degree burn is considered less painful because it burns your nerve endings. How come people with 3rd degree burn are in so much pain? Do they feel the pain from the muscle being burned, or is it psychological that they feel it when they were being burned?
