I failed!!!

So far since I started in Feb. I have passed 4 exams. I took Life Span 1 on the 19th and much to my surprise I failed!:sniff:

I have had a hard time getting back intor studying again, haven't cracked a book since the 19th. I feel down in the dumps.:crying2:

Since I have failed this exam what is the waiting time before you can retake it?

I am wondering if I should just move on to the next one or stick with this one?

I believe the waiting period is 60 days, but you need to check with the website on that. Go on to the next test. By the time you get your next test out of the way, the waiting period will be up for this one and you can give it a fresh approach.

I believe it's a 60 day wait to retake the exam. What studying materials are you using? I've used Study Group 101 notes for this exam and Excelsior practice exams and got an A. You shouldn't let this exam get you down, you have 60 days to study harder for it. It depends on your preference, if you want to move to the other exams or concentrate more on studying to pass Life Span 1. On the EPN discussion boards, one of the advisors(or instructors) said you can ask them to waive the 60 day wait and take the exam sooner. Good luck on your studies and keep thinking positive thoughts!

I agree with the fresh approach idea...move on to another course....forget about LS1 for a while, then come back to it. Good luck with your decision and your next exam!

I was in your position too Lisa. I had failed after passing 6 tests and was totally beside myself....but like everyone else said, go to the next test. You have 60 days so why not just get another test done. good luck :)

Lisa, I'm sorry you didn't pass. If you do decide that you'd like to retake this exam before the specified waiting period, you can ask EC if they'll waive the requirement to wait. They've done it for students in the past. Best of luck, whatever you decide to do next!

Since they are making some changes in the NC 3 after sept 30,09 students are pushing themselves harder and more stressful on completing the concepts. My advice is take it easy and take one day at a time. Stress can make thinking impaired and mar your chances.

Wish you all the best, I have 2 exams too..NC 6 & NC 7.

Girl, dont give up :) whatever you decide to do dont let this set you to far behind..maybe just take alittle break...you can do this :)

Keep it moving Lisa. Several of us have failed a test and picked it up in the end. My friend failed her very last test and she called EC and they let her take it 3 weeks later.

What are you using for study material? For this test, make sure that you know the basics about research methodology, types of research design, etc. If you don't understand this part it is unlikely that you will pass, most of the test is on this info. Use EC study guide for this test, it was on target. The actual growth and development, theorists, theories, i.e., Piaget, Kohlberg, Freud, are in most fundamentals nursing texts.

Good luck to you,

Maureen

Caveat to my previous post: I tested under the older tests, is the exam that you failed a Life Span G&D? If not, disregard my previous entry. I keep forgetting that the Concepts Exam have changed a little.

I have not failed, it was just the thread followed through.

I would be giving my exam in July for the first time.

I am still in the old syllabus, had enrolled in september 07.

I am reading the text, and LA and distance learning. Ofcourse, checking out per EC content guide.

How far are you in the program, any suggestionssssss????
