Calling all former and present CCN FNP students!
Hello, I have applied for CCN FNP for Nov 2017. I am in San Antonio, Texas. The school does hav a clinical coordinator, probably can look at the past students clinical sites and share that with you. Going in person has helped me; but since the practicum will not start until a year or so, it is difficult to count on it. Best of luck.

lacking motivation!! please need advise...
On Hurst I never scored more than 65%, but did not have any problems with NCLEX. I guess after all the test, our grey cells does starts functioning better. Wish you luck!!!

lacking motivation!! please need advise...
Yes I was so nervous and kept checking the website to see if I could postpone it by a week. But had no luck. The questions were more critical thinking, which signs and symptoms would you be alert on the situation. Like say a person who had craniotomy post op and having huge urine output, then something so minor bleeding which is normal. Just try to remember what to watch out for each post op surgerical patient. SATA is more on incident reports, anorexia nervosa, clept palate, etc. They have the 5/6 choices and mostly easy to pick them up.

Yes NCLEX 4000 is a very good source as it covers each topic/systems. But in the exam, the questions are never direct. They will ask on a surgical patient, the problems to look for: like electrolyte imbalances, the diet, the medications, position, etc. But they definetely combine a bunch of things. There are a lot of SATA questions and prioritizing.( which patient you will see first). Wish you luck

I took my boards on august 5th, and had 75 questions. I did take the Hurst review, found it useful but would advise to use saunders review. Also used the NCLEX 4000, felt some questions were very similar.

Need Excelsior CPNE Advice Please!!!
I tested in February at Racine. The CE's work with you very well. Memorize the critical elements for the assessments you will be tested on. And do set up a lab station at home. Practicing the lab on regular basis would make it smooth and become a second nature when you test out. I attended a work shop, and that helped me tremendously. There is tremendous information on computer, where students have uploaded information to fellow students. Wish you luck, and will respond to any question you have. Shehnaz

I am reading the text, and LA and distance learning. Ofcourse, checking out per EC content guide. How far are you in the program, any suggestionssssss???? Shehnaz

passing NC
Lisa Arends notes are good, but reading the textbook is a must. Nursing concepts are more towards application, and reading the textbook should remind you of how it has been applied in different scenarios.
