I failed NCLEX again!!!!

don't feel bad. i had to take boards twice. got the biggest cold sore ever. i took all 265 and it took me 3 hours. i was the last person to leave the test site. this supervisor i know had to take it 5-6 times. so don't be discouraged. take the desiginated "breaks" and don't stress about it the night before you take it. just relax. good luck again.

i'm sure you all passed...after the second time i took it, you just "know"...i think if you don't pass the first time, it humbles you..it makes you a better person...or that's how i felt...if it's meant to be, then it will happen...it will...God wants you to be a nurse to heal the sick...he will make it happen...good luck

Don't feel so down, there might be hope after all. You still didn't receive the result. I had same experience as yours, took the NCLEX-RN exam last Sept. 16. I was hoping the computer will stop at 75 but it gave me more difficult Q's then after around 90Q's easier Q's followed until the computer shut down at 120. I know for sure, I got the last question right, and I passed!!! If you remember the last Q before the computer shut down and if you got it right, you still have a chance that you made it. Believe me. Think positive and continue to pray!

Let's try not to worry - I'm in the same boat as you are. I took mine on Monday 10/2 as well and still no results. This is my second time around, and the second time I had 265 questions. I really did think that after 75 questions I was doing okay but it just kept going... what gives me confidence was that this time around I was very familiar with the topics given to me and that Kaplan gave me the tools I needed to think through the question. I remember my last question perfectly, and I KNOW I got it right - hopefully that's a good sign.

I know this second time around, the feelings don't change while you're waiting around, just try to distract yourself and be around those that will support you, no matter what the results are.

I'll keep you in my prayers, please keep me in yours.

Actually this is a misconception. The last question, whether you get it right or wrong, does NOT determine pass/fail. Just like the number of questions does not determine pass/fail. But congrats on passing your exam! :)

the average wait time for ca is ten days..........not three days, and you have not even gotten to that yet.

they manually review the file when it is complete, meaning that each one is reviewed by a human and then a license number is issued, it is not an automatic thing.

i have seen quite a few that passed that waited for about one month.

not seeing your name in three days there means absolutely nothing and is more of the norm for there.

just sit tight and please keep up posted.

Nursing28. I understand what you were saying about the CNA role. I had never been a CNA until I had to return my GN license. ~ side note: when they told me I would practice under last license I had I replied... "my drivers license?" because of not ever having anything else before my GN ~ okay, back on topic...

The first time I took and didn't pass the NCLEX was in July. I am still working as a CNA and am floated all over the hospital. I work with different nurses all the time as a result. I go to the unit the nurse manager tells me too and I am still asked things like, "do you know how to take a blood pressure?"; "have you done 15 minute vitals before"; "do you know what the knee gatch is on the bed"; :rolleyes: ... it's crazy! My name tag even still says, Graduate Nurse on it for heavens sake. I just look a them and say, "yes I do. I am currently working as a CNA with a degree in nursing because I didn't pass the NCLEX" When they say, "OH! What happened, do you have a problem with test anxiety?" I reply, "No, not at all (which I don't). Someone just felt I needed to be a CNA before I became an RN". I honestly believe that too.

I think the hardest part for me in working as a CNA is KNOWING I can do more but am not allowed to. I have (had) a very hard time watching the nurses with their patient care and knowing I could be doing that, and doing it 'safely' ... or when I have to hit 'silent' on the IV pump and then tell the RN that there is a 'distall occlusion' ... OR when I report a potential problem (out of normal vital result, level of cons. of a pt, etc...) and the RN just looks at me and says, "yeah, that happens" and gives me a look like, "you are just a CNA, quit trying to be a nurse". :bluecry1: These things don't happen to me a lot but they do happen and it is very difficult to accept. I am going forward though and like you will always remember the life I lived as a CNA when I am an RN. The CNA allows the RN to give the quality care every patient deserves by handling the day to day tasks and giving time to think and function to the RN. I know the importantance of the CNA and take my role very seriously. I use it as a learning process. I take the best care of my patients that I can under my limited scope of practice and I WATCH and LEARN on a regular basis. I ask lots of questions about what is going on with patients that I am not familier with and store it away for future reference.

Just last night I told the RN on duty that when I grow up I am also going to be an RN, just like her! Which by the way, will be sometime around the middle of November... :saint:

Make sure you let us know how you did asap! and remember to keep your chin up no matter the results!!! If you are now an RN, use your experience as a CNA to be a better one and if you are not yet, use your experience as a CNA to its fullest to watch and learn to be a better one. :lol2:

I'm sorry! If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I ALSO just found out that I FAILED for the 2nd time! Unbelievable! The first time, I failed at 75, this time I failed at 137. I don't know what I did wrong. I am not joking when I tell you that from the first time I took my NCLEX (june 2006) until now, I have done over 8500 questions. I exhausted my books. I thought I knew it. I did well in school, awesome in clinical. I'm stunned but I'm over it. At this point, I am mad and determined to beat this test. That's all it is, beating the test! I have started Suzanne's 6 week plan and will follow it exactly and pass on November 15!

You will pass! (I always thought a 3rd time is a charm!)
