Well this post is being sent with a heavy heart, I just got my results and I failed. I knew in my heart that I did fail, I just felt it. Nothing about Friday the 8th felt right....well I have to put my big girl panties on and continue studying and nail this exam next time. I appreciate everyones caring words, I am going to go and bury my head for a few days. What a dissapointment!!!!!!:bluecry1:
As soon as I got up this morning I was on the phone with the NYSBON inquiring about exam #2. I paid another $200 ughh...within 5 minutes I had my ATT and I jumped right on and scheduled my exam for FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 26th at 8:00am.....THIS IS THE DAY I WILL OFFICIALLY BECOME A REGISTERED NURSE....there will be no slacking on studying, I have warned my kids, family, neighbors and friends to back off, I am on a mission, when I am studying LEAVE ME ALONE. I have sooo many distractors in my life it's crazy. My house is the gathering spot for ALL my kids friends and all of our neighbors - NOT ANYMORE. Time to put the foot down, I have to pass this exam.:redbeathe
I would also like to suggest that you review the analysis from your results, look at the areas you are weak in and study them before you take any test. Then after you take a practice test such as Saunders, Kaplan. Look at your results to see if you still remain weak in the same areas or if there is an improvement. You already know that the NCLEX is unlike any test you have taken in school and you will be better prepared the next time. I wish you luck.
Mom of three,
I'm so sorry my thought and prayers are with you....
I took my exam on 8/4/08 and talk with the boards and they told me it takes 3-31 days to process. Are you from Ca???How did you find out you failed? Did they send you something? Because it could be they still have not processed your exam yet??? Maybe???
Take Care and whatever you do, Don't give up, you didn't go this far and succeed in Nursing school for no reason.

Just dont give up is the main key!!! I've taken it 3 (yes 3!!) times and i got 145 the 1st, and all of them the 2nd times and I havn't passed but I took a week off, regrouped and I'm back into it. Just don't let things get down... I know its hard to pick things back up but you can do it!!! :) I'm right with ya!! Good luck!! :redbeathe
I recently failed as well, and about to take my second exam ..
Keep on praying mom!
Maybe we're hurting so much after we failed because we we're defeated by what we have already planned, and unable to see that it is not what we have in our thoughts and minds that will prevail, but it is what God really planned for us in the first place.. He knows when to give it to us, in the right time..
When you have done your best (its really exhausting!) and still failed, just bear in mind mom that
He has reasons for doing this.. I already know His reason for me, I hope you'd be able to know yours soon, so that you'd be able to move on, and start hitting with those thick books! :wink2:
never lose hope!
meow2 - you are hysterical - no more kids!! my kids are 14, 11 and 9. they keep me so busy with soccer, football, dance, i can barely keep up. thank you for thinkin' of me you are so sweet. i guess i could use some help as far as keeping a study schedule. it is really hard right now with the kids home all day. i feel like the minute i get to studying, they are bugging me for something. my husband is getting on my nerves, he says that he doesn't see the drive in me like he did see when i studied when i was in school. that really made me think last night, i think he is right. i have to light a fire under my butt and get moving. how many hours a day did you study? how many questions did you do? ok here are the study tools i am using, i go back and forth between saunders 4th edition, nclex 4000, priority, delegation book and kaplan nclex meds in a box. maybe i am using too many books???:brnfrt: i really really need to get motivated, the days are passing by quickly. my parents and husband are having a grad party for me on saturday, so i know saturday and sunday i probably won't get too much studying done so i'm kicking it up a notch this week. my neighbors husband plays in a band and they are playing at my party for free, what a riot it's going to be, too bad you didn't live close to me, i would tell you to come on over and celebrate passing your nclex!!! well thanks for thinking of me, gotta go hit the books!!!

Mom of three - at least you can say "why" you didn't pass (not studying). Therefore, studying is the remedy for the next time.
Good luck.
