I am so sorry ... I was just checking to see if you found out. :( Kudos to you for the big girl panties, though ... *hugs* You WILL succeed! I'm glad you're not giving up.

I'm so sorry. :heartbeat Keep your head up and know that this is only a bump in the road. You will pass the next time.

Thanks for all the kind words, I have been licking my wounds for the past couple of hours and now I am determined. What makes me mad the most is I am a procrastinator, I put off studying for every nursing exam until the last few days, BUT I always did well. Well now that studying that way for the NCLEX kicked me right in the rear end:madface:, I am mad at myself. If I knew if my heart of hearts that I studied my butt off and did everything possible to pass, I would be absolutely devastated. I know that I slacked and didn't do any quality studying, I know this. So I only have myself to blame for failing the nclex!! I will begin hardcore studying starting tomorrow. Can you guys help me with a strategy?? I need some direction on where to start and with what materials. I have 4th edition Saunders, Kaplan nclex review and subscribed to the rnquiz.com. Any others I should try???????

Why not try Suzanne's plan? Her first tip is in a "sticky" at the top of this forum. You already have the Saunders, which is the book you'll need to do her plan.

I am very sorry to hear this. You have posted many kind words to others.

I did over 6000 questions before the test.

I did all of Kaplan's questions online.

I also did a majority of NCLEX-4000 (which I liked better than Kaplan). I did questions everyday for at least two months. With the NCLEX 4000, I did questions by groups (Maternal Child Health - 100 questions, etc.).

If I would have had the time, I would have tried Suzanne's program.

In addition to the questions daily, I had to make some adjustments in my personal life.

I cut off email communication with colleagues from school for about three weeks before the test. I made it clear to my family that they needed to keep their distance two weeks before the test. I worked full-time and every day after I got home from work, I started doing questions while dinner was cooking. I went to bed early every night for the first time in years, and caught up on some sleep.

Probably my most therapeutic tool was my MP3 player that I got for Mother's Day. I listened to music every night and didn't watch television for about one month before the test.

I did well in nursing school and knew the content. However, I knew I couldn't be prepared enough unless I was managing my anxiety levels.

Hang in there and know you will pass.

mom of 3-- i am sooo very sorry that you failed:( i was really pulling for you. i have nothing but good hopes a vibes for you the next time around... start making changes now so your ready when it comes down to test day again.

i will tell you what our school made us do. we had to take the saunders book and do 200 question over 2 weeks on each topic we had to get an 75% on each. then we took a test to see where our trouble were it was an eri test but im sure you can us nclex 3500 to see. then where ever we were below 70% we had to do a hundred more questions from the saunders cd for each section this time we need to get a 85%. once done we had to take two review classes. one from eri and one from where ever. i took kaplan. my teacher wasnt great but the online stuff is nice and the book is good too. maybe if you took it you would get a better teacher. i have been focusing on the kaplan q-banks and q-trainners and watching videos from kaplan on areas im weak in. one of my teachers who writes for nclex told our class that she would say kaplan and lipacottas (sp)book are the best to use. as i told you before i take my nclex the 12th so i am not 100% sure how i will do.. but i will let you know...

i will be keeping you in my thoughts!!!! try to relax today and enjoy your family:)

Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful words of encouragement. I just got home from a nice long walk along the lake. I was gone for about 2 hours it really helped me to refocus and get rid of the negative feelings I was having. I did start to cry again when I read the posts, but this too shall pass. OK what is the nclex 4000? Where can I get it, I am assuming it's online? I am willing to do whatever it is going to take. No more room for procrastinating. MEOW2 YOU WILL PASS THIS EXAM, you sound 100% more prepared than I ever thought of being. Thanks again, this website ROCKS!!!!

I had the NCLEX 3500 -- it's a CD-ROM with 3500 questions. The NCLEX 4000 is the newer one. They go for about $50 at Borders or similar bookstores. You can probably also buy it online, somewhere like amazon -- just search on NCLEX 4000. They probably also have used ones for less.
