I passed the NCLEX and I start my job as a cardiac night nurse in August!!!! :heartbeat

I thought I had failed the NCLEX and never imagined being offered a local job! I was prepared to move across the country and take the NCLEX a few times if I had to. This is unreal!

Amazing how things work sometimes.

Congrats!!! That is so exciting!! Great Job!

Congrats!!! I'm sure you will love it. Did you like learning about cardiac while inschool? If you need any tips on working nights, you canwrite me. I did it for 2 years...and just got a new job in the ICU...andwill be doing nights. Don't want to scare you if you haven't already done them...nights are the worst!! That is awesome you got ajob right away as a new grad. What state are you in??? Here in MA, the newgrads are stuck! CONGRATS, you'll do great!

congratulations! we all remember what it was like to finally be able to write "rn" after our names.

now, for any students or new grads reading this and still stressing about nclex, remember: the national rn nclex pass rate for 35,230 us-educated first-time test takers in jan-mar 2011 was 89.32% nationwide. if you graduate from an accredited program, you're already 9/10s of the way there :).

Hi Michelle,

Sorry my private messages don't work. I haven't done nights but I've always been a night person. I usually don't get tired until around 3-4am and can sleep in very late. I'm the kind of person who can sleep through earthquakes LOL. Nights will definitely be an adjustment though. What kind of advice do you have? Thanks!! Congrats on your new job in the ICU! I am in San Francisco...extremely difficult for new grads to find jobs too.

Congratulations! So here's your assignment: between now and August, work on that self confidence. I'm a May 2010 grad and started on a cardiac floor as well, and am really enjoying it. I'm not trying to scare you, but cardiac can be pretty stressful as a new RN. Be prepared to feel like a complete idiot, but do not allow yourself to believe that you are one! Private message me if you are interested in some tips and suggestions on starting out in cardiology.

Thanks for offering to give me advice!! Yeah I did my preceptorship in the same cardiac unit so I know it's going to be really stressful! What kind of tips do you have? My private messages don't work. Thanks!!!!

Congrats !! as a nursing student I hope I am as lucky!
