No experience! what to put on my resume???
I would definitely use that clinical experience! On mine I listed things like performing assessments, medication administration, providing quality patient care, etc. You get the point. And from your previous jobs you have customer service skills which is a big part of nursing. It's not so much about what you have to say, it's how you say it. Good luck!

rough day
Hang in there! Ask for help when you need it. You're obviously doing a great job and no one is expecting you to handle a bogus load being new! Chin up, smile on!

Being a new nurse is causing depression
I graduated in May and we were given a lecture by a guest speaker telling us to expect many ups and downs over the first year of being a new nurse. She recommended going on a weekend getaway 6 months in. All new nurses go thorugh a transition; we've finished school, don't see our fellow student nurse support system as much, and feel like we should 'get' how to be a great nurse. I was feeling very down at the end of my last semester. That should have been a very happy time! I think recognizing your own feelings is the key. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

Peds ATI Next Week ... HELP!!!!
Not sure if this will help you, but ours had a lot of developmental stages questions. This test was my lowest (level 2) and the most difficult. I wasn't a note take either, I just read, re-read, highlighted, read again, then looked over my highlights (which was pretty much the entire book, haha). Do you take the practice tests? Good luck!

Feeling very blessed!
Congrats! I too am a new nurse. It took me only 3 weeks after I took the NCLEX to get a job! It's a PRN position, but I am soooo thankful for employment! I prayed everyday that God had somewhere He needed me to be, and HE did!

Please cross your fingers for me...

smb84 Give the BON a call. I waited 2 weeks for my ATT, gave them a call (be persistent, DO NOT leave a message) and she said "Yep, we have all of your stuff, I'll get your ATT to you this afternoon. I had it a an hour later and tested the following Monday. Good luck!

When did you decide nursing was for you?
I've known I wanted to be a nurse since I was 5. My mom had a friend who was a RN and worked in surgery. I thought that was the coolest thing ever! I also always had my barbies in the 'hospital' and took care of my 'patients'. I didn't go to college right after high school; I got married and started a family. The time wasn't right for me. I finally decided I could either keep on taking jobs I hated or buckle down and go for a degree in nursing. Every time I went to clinical all I could think was "Wow! Somebody is actually gonna pay me to do what I absolutely love doing!" I graduated in May, passed Nclex in June, and I start my new job on Tuesday. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!

Ohio Board of Nursing Exam Results
I took (and passed) the NCLEX in June. I was on the OBON the next day later in the afternoon. I tested at 8 AM. I was freaking out because my friend took hers the same day I did but at 1 PM at a different site and was on the OBON before me. I, like you, took 75 questions and tried the PV trick (which worked for me). Hang in there! Your name with the initials RN behind it is coming soon:yeah:

Will I get a call saying I didn't get the job?
Thanks for all your thoughts on this. At the hospital I interviewed with the manager of the unit, not HR. I wasn't expecting to hear from the hospital just yet anyway. She let me know that she had other interviews to do this week. The LTC also said she had other interviews to do. I just REALLY need job! What should I say when I call to inquire about these jobs? Thanks again for all your input!
