Both arguments are making good points BUT you are adding what if's to the question and not answering what the questions is asking. In the original, it is asking about response to treatment, so I would go with Urine output, (give lasix, increase urine output is what you want) in the other post to this thread it is asking about monitoring (not treatment response) so daily weights (gain 3 lbs in 24 hours, something is going on) makes more sense..

they key pont in your question is "response to treatment" so A is right. Once treatment/intervention is started, output over the next few hours should change for the better, if not treatment needs to be changes/increased/adjusted. Waiting till tomorrow to check the weight cannot be right cause pt can be getting worse and you missed it.

Thanks for your input. You all pretty much conclude this type of position would not be a mistake after factoring economy, job market, experience. As a new grad, I needed some assurance from experienced nurses like you to get "the other side" perspective. Thanks again. I there. I am a male nurse graduate (diploma RN) in NJ. I am beginning my search for my first job and my goal was to land a hospital position in a med-surge unit so after 1 year or so, I can go into a speciality or branch off into something different. However, I came across an opportunity of a position at a non-hospital facitly in their sub-acute unit through a personal connection. My question, will taking a position in this unit limit my oppportunities down the road as I will not have the same experience as I would in a hospital. Also, for those who may not be aware, the job market for grads (both Diplomas and BSN) is very bad here in NJ, so should I take this spot because the experience is similar to a hospital and/or because the market stinks and any spot is good right now.
