Hurts Review

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello. I see a lot of posts about plan but not so much about Hurst scores and being ready for nclex.

My qbank scores 78,82, 84,90,88/125 not percent.

I am wondering if anyone else has had similar scores and if so did you pass the nclex. My exam is very very soon and I'm just not sure if I can retain anything further. I feel like the more I study the more I forget.

The Q-Review is not a predictor test. The goal of this Q-Review is to utilize each test as an additional tool provided within the Hurst REview learning experience.

Do not worry about scores. Scores are not a guarantee you will pass the NCLEX. The NCLEX questions are a different beast. They are not like the Q-Review questions. You just need to make sure you have mastered all the content in the Hurst Review book. If you have done that & go into the NCLEX Exam with a critical thinking & safety mindset, you will give yourself a great chance at passing.

Thank you. I do understand that is not a predictor. But I would like to find out statistically how many people do well on the Hurst review and then do well on the NCLEX. You can find lots of comparisons for the Kaplan but not many for the Hurst.

Those are good scores

Thank you. I only used hurts and pda. Now I'm worried that the test questions will be so different that I won't figure it out. I'm starting to get paranoid to doubt myself

I haven't taken my test yet- but from the hundreds of posts I've read, everyone says Kaplan's questions most resemble NCLEX. If you troll the internet you can find the Kaplan trainers or buy the Kaplan strategies book with practice questions. I too am using Hurst and PDA. For me, Kaplan questions have been great in helping me apply my Hurst content.Good luck to you!

I took the Hurst Review at my school, I didn't see the 99% of what Hurst had taught us. Ironically enough there were other students from my school that I saw their , and they said the same thing when they finished. It wasn't until I too read hundreds by now thousands of post on the NCLEX that Kaplan always rose to the occasion everytime!!! If I knew about all the wonderful tips, sites etc.. before I had taken my NCLEX last Thursday I would have NO DOUBT passed my NCLEX. But you live and you learn! Out of all the posts I have read Hurst came up MAYBE 2-3x and it would be comments like: my school gave us Hurst Review, but Kaplan helped helped get the passing that was needed. It's like Hurst doesn't compare.

Hi Tmlpn83,

I agree that Kaplan is by far the best tool out there. It is simulated just like the NLCEX to the color of the screen. Kaplan prepared me the best out of frustration with other materials, especially ATI which our school had us do, so I did the Virtual ATI to prep for NCLEX & was frustrated of only seeing a few nuursing priorities: which pt will you see 1st or procedure type questions, and positionings, select all, ect.. Anyways, I completed it all & still didn't feel confident with it, so I purchased Kaplan & postponed by test by 6 weeks & did the strategies & all Qbanks & tests. Wow, what a difference. And you learn from the rationales. Loved how you are able to look them up after the test which allowed me to go back through each question afterwards. I wished I would of purchased it sooner, plus there's money back guaranteed for 1st times taking it withing 6 months of Graduating.

My Q review scores were less than yours and I passed! Don't let those results scare you!

Please do not take this wrong, but tmlpn83, did you MASTER the Hurst Review content? I have found those who did not, have a greater chance of failing. Hurst Review only works if you MASTER the content. You have to be able to lecture & explain every single one of those topics to another person. This way, the content becomes apart of you and no matter how a question is phrased, you cannot be tricked or convinced to go with the distractor.

I did Hurst Review Live & I MASTERED all that content with a classmate & we quiz each other on everything last piece of content in that book for about 6 weeks, before taking the exam. Plus we went over about 2 - 3 times on our own. I am so happy to have went through Hurst, because all that knowledge is with me & I will continue to reference that book in the field.

Further, Kaplan is great for those who have a STRONG content Foundation, b/c Kaplan main teachings is strategies, not content.

I took Hurst online and live review and I think it's great for core content. I only studied the Hurst and did not pass the Nclex. I felt like the questions where not even close or similar to the Nclex. You have to see where you're week in, core content or Nclex style questions...hope that will help.
