Hi everyone,
I just took the first day of live review with Kaplan and I am not content with it. All we did was questions. Thank God I won a scholarship from them. Since I don't want to waste my time an take the exam several times I am thinking about the Hurst review online. I read the website but I had one question for you guys. Have any of you guys that took tried to download the lectures on your own CD or dvd?
If yes please let me know because I am a very slow person when it comes to audio.
Thanks for any response!

You might want to try doing a search because I have seen quite a few people post saying they were really satisfied with the hurst review.
Good luck!

Hi,
I read the old discussion about the extra materials from Hurst. I just finished the course including listening to all the mock NCLEX discussions and don't remember hearing her talk about calling for more materials. Was I zoning out? Is she still sending extra material out?
Thanks!

Hi! I didnt hear Marlene mention extra material on her online review, but I read it on one of the threads so I called Hurst. They actually sent out extra materials to review. It took about 2 days to get it. Just call Hurst:)

In answer to your question: I recorded some of the audio on audiotapes.(Don't have a cd burner) and listened to them in the car. Secondly, I think the Kaplan strategies in combination with Hurst content review will benefit you. I found the Kaplan questions to be comparable in language and difficulty to the questions I got on the NCLEX.
If you listen to Marlene, Be sure and pay attention to her question section and the Delegation section. Her rationales were ringing in my ears during the test. And I passed with 76 questions.
Hope that helps.
Thanks mkRN! I was worried I REALLY hadn't been paying enough attention during the review :) I called them and they said they will send a CD out. Thanks again.
thanks you guys!
Do you think it is worth it to take the review course with Hurst or should I just stick with Kaplan and forget about Hurst? I guess I am getting really nervous about the Nclex now.
Help!

The Hurse review sounds like it'd be really helpful, but I don't have the money to spend on it. I'm reviewing for the NCLEX by doing tons of practice questions from Saunders each day.

I took the Hurst review prior to taking my boards and I am so thankful. She is AWESOME!! My friend falied her boards the first time and she took a different review than I did. Needless to say she took Ms. Hurst's review before her second try and finished with 75 questions. I would recommend the live version if she is coming anywhere near your area, but if not I think that you will still learn a lot from her website. I cannot tell you enough how wonderful she is. I only wished that I would have taken her prior to nursing school b/c it may have actually made since!! :) Hope this helps with your decision.

I finished the Hurst exam in April and I highly recommend it. She makes it so that even if you don't know the content, you can answer the question.
