  1. HI! I have an interview scheduled for scripps la jolla. Can you give me any suggestions or advice on how the interview went. What types of questions did they ask? Were they friendly? I am nervous on what they will ask. I have been out of school for a yr and finally got my license so I might be in a disadvantage. Thanks!
  2. i finally passed the rn-nclex!!! it was my 3rd time around shut off at 75 questions. thank you for all the support & advice!!! this website rocks! yay for RN's!!!!!
  3. Hi! I didnt hear Marlene mention extra material on her online review, but I read it on one of the threads so I called Hurst. They actually sent out extra materials to review. It took about 2 days to get it. Just call Hurst:)
  4. I know how you feel. I'm in th same situation. Got great grades, deans list, never had problems w/ exams, but the NCLEX!!!!!!!! This will also be my 3rd time taking it...so good luck to you!!! Maybe it was the false reassurance that we had thinking we did great in school so we will do great on the test...so grades doesnt matter! PM me and let me know how you're studying for the 3rd time. Good luck to you...soon we will be RN's!!!
  5. Hi! I attended the 14-month accelerated BSN program at SHU in NJ and there was no out of state tuition fee :)
  6. Hi. I went through the 14-month accelerated program at SHU. I applied when I was in my last semester in college getting my BA in psychology. I was accepted before I even graduated. I had all my prereq's done before I applied, except for 1 which I just had to put and estimated time when I would be done and send transcript asap. When I attended there they had 2 start dates for the program and now I believe that there are so many applicants that they cut back and just have 1 start date. You can get so much info on there website. 14-months gets you a BSN, but downfall to a private college EXPENSIVE...they also charge other costs to your tuition, such as every student receives a laptop and the whole campus is wireless (which is neat, but expensive). Very extensive course, but manageable. Private msg me if you have questions. Id love to give you the pro's/con's about that college. Good luck :)
  7. we WILL pass!!! i took the kaplan course, went to the classes, did the online review and failed at 265 questions...this time around taking the ncsbn course online and studying from the saunders book...having no life and just studying all the time...i got my money back from kaplan and had to give them back my cd & book...the saunders book is much better than the kaplan course book that came w/ the review, although their cd trainer was beneficial...i think the ncsbn course is good and not as boring as the kaplan online review content...hopefully this time around it will work...how r u studying this time around?
  8. CONGRATS!!!!
  9. so are you getting your money back from kaplan?
  10. the BRN sends you your results and for each category they score you as below, near or above passing...i did the kaplan review...do u recommend saunders?
  11. just needed to vent! I can't seem to pass this nclex! First time, didn't study much, traveled, partied, got 201 questions w/ all near passing...understandable why I failed! Second time, attended a review, did questions every other night, got 265 questions w/ couple above passing and the rest near passing...will the 3rd time be a charm?!?!?! I have my bachelors in psy and also got my BSN, so I never had problems w/ school/grades, was in honors & dean's list...so why now when I have to take the biggest test ever, I struggle!?!?! My parents are the greatest and have given me everything I could ask for except thr RN behind my name!!! That's something I truly want and thats something I will work hard for to obtain! Being 25, I need to start my life...on my own...career and family...all I need is that RN behind my name! In due time, I will pass this exam!!! I commend all of you who have chosen this career and esp. passing the nclex...hopefully I will join you all as RN's! Thanks for listening...Have a wonderful Easter :)
  12. Hi ABC's DAD! I'm at 25 y/o female...I know I'm not allowed in here!!! But came across your post...I have my BA in Psychology and also a BSN. I obtained my psy degree first and then attended a 14 month accelerated BSN program. ADN are taught more skills in school while BSN's are taught more theory in school...but after a yr's of entry level work, you can't tell the difference between the two..they're both RN's...as far as getting jobs they are gladly hiring ADN w/o any hesitation...pay is not that much of a difference because you'd both be starting off as New Grad RN's...i know a couple hospitals that give a 3% pay increase for a BSN, but usually they get the same pay starting out. But if you are considering on getting advance degrees in nursing the BSN path is a better way to go, more opportunities. Good luck to you...and also all the other males in the nursing field! We need more of you guys :)
