HRSA 2021-2022

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

What about the school seal or stamp? How do we submit it with that if it’s electronic?

I didn't since my school officials were working remotely. Because of covid, it hasn't been a huge deal. I got a countersignature today so it was fine! Just make sure all the information is correct and that it is signed.

My school seal is clearly visible on the scanned copy they submitted. In your portal it tells you the 3 forms to submit if you need further info it’s in the original application packet. Fill out the w4 and the other forms get filled out thru your school. Currently you are only filling out for this past Summer and current fall. They will send you another form for Spring and Summer later down the road.

Hey guys! I got my finalist email yesterday around 2 pm. all praise to GOD!! I have a quick question. For the W4, we have to only include name, address SSN, check off single or married, sign the W4 and date it right?

Does anyone know what happens if there are no approved opportunities for nurses in your area under the workforce connector? I received my finalist email, but a, looking up approved facilities before I send in my COI. Currently, there are no opportunities for RN's. Only Nurse Practitioners and Dentists.

I spoke to someone in customer service and they were not helpful.

You will have to move

well that doesn't seem practical. there are no opportunities listed within 100 miles of me.

I would suggest looking at which facilities qualify rather than looking at open positions right now. I was able to find more locations and reach out about when I can expect job openings

Yes since we are required to find our ow. Employment then we would be forced to move for those 2 years or default on the contract and be required to pay back everything plus interest.

well when you consider the fact that jobs do hire and release employees a lot, then you see if may not always be that there’s nothing within 100 miles. There’s also the fact that they have numerous other facilities throughout the US. So lots of opportunity for employment

Instead of looking at the workforce connector, look at the map. If you have a facility in mind you can type in the address and see if it is located in an HPSA geographic or population area! I did it last night for the Children’s Hospital in my state and the score was 14 for geographic location and population so it would qualify as a CSF (hopefully it still will when I graduate since I just got an externship there)!

So, I did that and found the facilities that I looked up were considered critically short in mental health, but when I called customer service to confirm, I was told that even if it is listed, it has to be an approved facility. She then referred me to the workforce connector page. I called to verify because I have to hospitals that I am looking at specifically. One I currently have an externship with. ?

Hey everyone,

This question is aimed toward those who have received their counter signature.

Would the counter signature be listed on the last page of your Nurse Corps Program signed contract? I see a signature and their role says: OFAM Approver
Just want to know if I’m on the right track ?
