I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?
Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

Based on historical data, the HRSA is pretty clear that given your EFC you will not receive an award.
"Applicants with an EFC between $0 and $6,345 are considered to have the greatest financial need. The FAFSA’s SAR is calculated by the Department of Education, not by the Nurse Corps SP." (pg 12 of APG)
"It is expected that approximately 252 new and continuation awards will be made for the 2021-2022 academic year. In the past, Nurse Corps SP funds have been sufficient to reach only applicants in Tier 1." (pg 13 of APG)
Here is the link to how the funding is done:

This is for the Loan repayment program.

"The Nurse Corps SP award and contract is for the 2021-2022 academic year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022). Any funding for subsequent school years provided after June 30, 2022, is optional and considered to be for another contract year. Funding for additional school years (Continuation Awards through Optional Contracts) requested by the applicant and agreed to by the Secretary of HHS (HHS Secretary) or his/her designee are documented in additional executed contracts for each year as needed."
This verbiage is for the Loan Repayment program not the scholarship program.

I just spoke to someone else today. She said acceptance and denial letters have already started going out and will keep going out on a “rolling basis.” She also said they have until September 30th to reach out to us with a decision. She said they got “thousands and thousands” of applicants this year and she couldn’t give me a concrete number as to how many would get the scholarship.

The HRSA reps who answer the phone give the same type of answers that the IRS reps give, anything to get you off the phone. There are literally the exact same responses posted in previous threads ?. In the 2018 cycle the reps told them awards had already started going out in early July. Then they all started receiving their credit checks and then the finalist emails rolled in starting mid Aug.
