  1. Actually, what it says is that among those with an EFC below 6345, only those in tier 1 have historically received awards.
  2. The APG is pretty clear that they only consider applicants with an EFC under 6345. (Pg 12).
  3. I am in the same situation. While I do not know the percentage of those who received credit checks and were subsequently selected as finalists, I do see from reading previous years threads that applicants did often receive the email several days after the initial credit check.
  4. I also got credit check. EFC 4360. applied for funding for DNP PMHNP, have worked in CAF for last 2 years
  5. This is the document I originally quoted, the APG.
  6. This is for the Loan repayment program.
  7. Based on historical data, the HRSA is pretty clear that given your EFC you will not receive an award. "Applicants with an EFC between $0 and $6,345 are considered to have the greatest financial need. The FAFSA’s SAR is calculated by the Department of Education, not by the Nurse Corps SP." (pg 12 of APG) "It is expected that approximately 252 new and continuation awards will be made for the 2021-2022 academic year. In the past, Nurse Corps SP funds have been sufficient to reach only applicants in Tier 1." (pg 13 of APG)
  8. There are instances in which continuation awards are granted. Please see page 13 of the 2021 APG for further details : "It is expected that approximately 252 new and continuation awards will be made for the 2021-2022 academic year. In the past, Nurse Corps SP funds have been sufficient to reach only applicants in Tier 1." "The Nurse Corps SP award and contract is for the 2021-2022 academic year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022). Any funding for subsequent school years provided after June 30, 2022, is optional and considered to be for another contract year. Funding for additional school years (Continuation Awards through Optional Contracts) requested by the applicant and agreed to by the Secretary of HHS (HHS Secretary) or his/her designee are documented in additional executed contracts for each year as needed."
  9. What happens if you break the contract? Just take the job you can get now. After 1-2 years the whole world opens up career wise
  10. The lesson to learn is: if you already know what you want, call the provider that will just say yes to your suggested intervention.
  11. Substance abuse is pretty laid back for the most part. Residential level psych may be more your speed.
  12. I’m hung up on how it can be a “ccu” in a long term hospital w no doctor on site. I think by definition that is not critical care ?
  13. As others have mentioned, if you have no criminal history, nor have been admitted involuntarily for psych treatment, your medical history is protected private information and you would do well to keep it that way. I know several folks with similar stories who did not disclose their history and are registered now.
  14. Depends on your school. Go hang around outside the nursing skills lab and ask the current students. I’m in a program where the vast majority of students scrape by with Cs, completion rates hover around 20%, and NCLEX pass rates are 100% for grads.
  15. I am in my final semester of an ADN program. I use the Littman Classic III, and have had no problems identifying murmurs and adventitious Lung sounds. I do utilize the tunable diaphragm, but have had to provide literature to professors to support my practice (they will want you to use the bell to auscultate murmurs). I would recommend the Classic, though I do not have experience using the cardio.
