HRSA 2021-2022

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

Hi!

Has anyone on this forum received a credit check in June and heard nothing at all from HRSA or Nurse Corps? I hear a credit check is a good sign but I haven't seen any movement in 2 months.

Also, how confident are we that the second wave of applicants will be notified they received the award this week?

I had a credit check by HRSA June 14 and nothing else….no email, no change in status. I’m dying every day when nothing changes - I try to forget about it but the obsession is real. Sending us all good vibes

Credit checks ARE a GREAT sign. It means you are being considered. The credit check is the last step in the process. Decisions should be going out within the next 10 business days.

Hey, if you guys haven't applied to the HPSP for VA, I think it's a good idea to try it if you are interested in working with the VA after graduation. It has basically the same requirements and tuition/stipend/books cover as the HRSA. Plus I think everything is also tax-free, unlike the HRSA. The turnaround time from submission to alternate/waitlisted to offer pending to accepting the offer was roughly about a week and a few days for me. I applied on July 8th and got my official offer today.

I noticed that there were a lot of comments on the HRSA but not a lot on the HPSP, so you might get a higher chance! It's worth it to try at least!

Thank you so much for this information. I just completed my HPSP application while still crossing my fingers for the HRSA. How long did it take for you to hear something back? ?

To the person that got their credit check. When was it checked and what site did you check your credit on (for example credit karma)?

My credit was checked on June 14th. My bank notified me and Experian report confirmed.

@Psych99143 what was your efc score if you don't mind me asking

Do they typically send offers to everyone with an EFC of 0? Or is there something else that would be of higher priority?

I have not had a credit check and I have an efc of 0. Im really nervous so I'm applying to HPSP as well.

I applied the day of the application was due. I have not have a credit check yet but praying I get this. Financial aid will be depleted and this scholarship would really help me out. Good Luck Everyone!!
