I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?
Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

I was freaking out because I didn’t get a credit check and for some reason I did but it was delayed on my statement and I didn’t see it for MONTHS after (when I had already received the scholarship), probably something to do with the free site I was using being delayed. But because other people were getting a credit check and I wasn’t I had convinced myself I wasn’t getting it and it was so upsetting! So don’t let those little things stress you out.
Similarly, I was in either the 2nd or 3rd round of “signatures” from Jamie King (IDK if it’s still that person but probably). If you’ve read the original thread you know that a signature on your contract is essentially a guarantee that you got the scholarship because it means they are making your contract valid. It happened in like randomly three groups and each time was like a month apart! It was so stressful to see everybody on the forum talking about their signature with mine unsigned, but sure enough, almost a month later, I got mine.
Basically I am making this point to say while this forum is a blessing and a great way to ask questions and talk, don’t take every little thing someone else gets that you don’t and overthink it or you will be miserable. I wasted so much time worrying and stressing over someone else’s credit check or someone else’s signature and got the same scholarship at the end of the day. I had written off getting the scholarship after the first round of signatures when I didn’t get mine because I had no idea there would be multiple rounds. Try not to over analyze it and just know I have faith in you and you’re gonna get it! Lmk if y’all have questions and good luck!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE REASSURANCE!!! I’m sure we ALL needed this!
I didn't mean to upset anyone - I've read through the last three years of these forums and have seen that people just report anything they hear as soon as they hear it, so I just wanted to share my good news - but I feel as though people are upset since no one else has seen their credit checked - I applied last year and celebrated everyone who received the scholarship. I apologize if I made others panic - it's very early, and I know from reading through the forums that everyone's experience is different.

I hope you don’t think my post was directed towards anybody- I hadn’t even read the forum I just saw it existed and wanted to share my two cents.
I absolutely think you should post and celebrate! How exciting. That is the blessing of this forum! I think posting those things is awesome. The point of my post is that people SHOULDNT get upset at your excitement or your success because theirs is probably coming too. I hope my post alleviates some stress and takes away some of that anxiety regarding others’ place in the process because everybody has their own timeline with this scholarship, it’s not linear whatsoever.
Hope my post doesn’t make anybody feel like their success shouldn’t be shared. It was more to remind people that when others share their success, keep in mind that yours could be coming too ?

Hi! I’ll share what I remember, I am in a nurse practitioner program so my BSN undergrad GPA was 3.8. My EFC was around 2400. I didn’t have a lot of experience with underserved populations but had an interest in working with them so I really discussed that on my apps, but you definitely don’t need a lot of experience to qualify, just a heart for it. I had been a nurse in two large hospitals that were not HRSA sites for three years prior to applying. So don’t get discouraged if you don’t have a lot of experience with underserved communities.

Y’all are awesome! Just hoping to alleviate some anxiety and remind y’all that you’re all worthy of getting it and odds are you will! Just don’t compare your journey to others. Good luck to everybody and I’ll definitely be stalking this forum to see y’all get your offers?
Some encouragement: was driving and listening to maverick city music song God will work it out. There’s a part of the song that goes like this: be still my soul, be still and know, lean in take hold, in God alone . Then the chorus of the song is like this: God will work it out, God will work it out, one thing I know, One thing I found, God will work it out .
I put this to say, God you I’ll work it all out for us! No matter what ! So please keep the faith ! Don’t loose hope .
I hope this encourages someone
hey, guys, I have a 3.0 GPA. I have a EFC of 1,400 and I have volunteer hours at a hospital as well as helping people in my poverty neighborhood that I grew up in vote. I really hope that is enough form me to get the scholarship given that my GPA is not the best. I worked really hard to get in nursing school and I have used up almost all my loans. I pray I get this
