Hello all,
I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.
Toyo,
I completely agree with you. There is something wrong when we jump through so many hoops to do everything exactly as it is required by HRSA, but then HRSA is not held at all accountable for their claims. It doesn't make any sense that no one on this forum has been officially informed that they were selected. If the "overworked and underpaid" employees at HRSA could not meet the deadline, they only had to post a brief message at the login page stating that. If they had done that, we would all be aware of it. Besides what makes them so overwhelmed? It's calls from us right? And why do we call? Because they are so secretive about the process of selection and notification. I think that there is a serious problem here with a lack of government accountability.
sunflower,
I don't think anyone has "officially" been notified. Some of us received finalist/alternate emails and then I think 2 people have received phone calls but I don't think anyone has received a letter in the mail which from my understanding is the official notification...correct me if I'm wrong you guys...???
"Dear :
Due to the increased volume of NSP applicants, program staff managing the program will not be able to communicate with you via the web to give you an individual status regarding the processing of your application. We will alert you that your application has been received and is under review. However, continue to check the web site for possible updates regarding the status of your application. It is anticipated that NSP awardees will be notified no later than September/early October. NSP applicants not receiving an award will be notified via email in mid October. "
This is what is stated under the status tab on my login page. Note the "Early October" for notification of recipients and the "mid October" for for non-recipients. So I guess it's still early October so lets just have faith and be patient.
Also, is anyone else missing information on their page.
My phone number and a lot of my citizenship questions are now blank. I'm wondering if I should go in and complete this info or if I should leave it alone. I know that at least at one point they had my info. because I've received a phone call and a finalist e-mail from them. Also, my online application info is now listed all incomplete whereas it was all complete. Anyone else having this problem?
HRSA just called me too!!!!!! They said the same thing as was said to mistydale...that I had given the wrong routing number. (That's BS by the way, since I have had the same checks for 11 years)
She didn't tell me I had gotten the scholarship but I didn't ask either. I think she was a bit taken aback that I didn't ask because right when she went to hang up, she said "I'm sorry I had to wake you, but this is good news that I'm calling." I could almost hear the grin in her voice.
I'm on cloud nine!!!! I think that they are not allowed to tell us over the phone that we won, so calling to ask for the right routing number is a way to confirm our bank info for sure, all the while playing it off that they're only calling cause we wrote it down wrong to begin with.
I wish everyone luck and I'll keep ya posted if I ever get an actual notice!
thanks, when you say that misslolalady already received an official notice, are you referring to the rep telling her that they will be friend for the next 2 years or has she gotten a letter in the mail?

Yes, I think it is 301. It is from Maryland. She called to confirm my bank account and routing number. (Am I just imagining, or did we not copy an actual check and send it into them?)
