If and only if, this establishment gets a proper management team, will it care for our precious Geriatric population safely, and with the dignity and respect they deserve. State and Federal Survey's are in place to prevent this kind of care to the patient and staff! This is not okay...

If you pedal through California, I'm in for the adventure! Passed NCLEX in June 2011, off work since September, total hip replaced in January, so that puts me 9 months as a registered nurse with no nursing job! Hip is good, I've been spinning at the gym and ready for the road bike :)

This is all new to you; relax, read, listen and be patient. I am a on my final classes and all the questions made perfect sense to me. Your clinical experience and didactic education will help bring all this nonsense together for you in about 6 months to a year. Save these questions somewhere and come back and look at them when you are done with your program; you will laugh at the thought that you didn't have a clue! Good luch and most of all have fun and enjoy the ride...

Sorry to hear...I am a student nurse applying for assistant jobs and find the same thing happening...Jobs posted---getting interviewed and then no response...Also called hiring HR person back to check and she said they had already hired for the position. I inquired about tips for improving my interview for future interviews and she said, "oh it wasn't your interviewing, we just didn't have the position!" oh well I guess i'll just keep trying.

Check into getting it removed or sealed from your record...It's been over 10 years ago.

I have 14 months left in BSN program. Have 0 efc, 0 income, but filled bankruptcy in Jan of 2008. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. I would think that getting the ones that are 1/4 to 1/2 way done would be a good gamble; I know I'm not turning back and have already been approached to work as tech in teaching hospital until I get done, so I know I could pay back with time or $$$. I was a bit bothered not hearing anything and presume I have not been selected, but I will make it with or without the government's help and will be free to roam about the world and help whomever I choose!

actually I was speaking more about the instructors who don't want to instruct and the amount of money we pay to have them teach. I have been a bit intimidated by a clinical instructor, but not demeaned. I was mortified once as I choked on a drug action that I should have known and trust me I will never put myself in that position again. they are here to teach us and you could be right; maybe they are weeding out the ones who can't take the heat.

Curious:twocents: ??? To the one's that have been contacted; what's your age, family dynamics, school cost and credit score? Just curious as to what criteria they used to select.

:argue: Our cohort has had similar issues, as well as having instructors teaching theory that obviously don't want to teach. We as a cohort went to the head of our department, who involved the head of the nursing department and organized a meeting. We had a spokes person communicate our concerns and complaints (private school $$$$) and then had open dialogue. The meeting went well; the cohorts behind us have and will continue to benefit. We can not bring back what we did not gain from the past, but can be thankful that our future is attended to and we attended to the future classes behind us. The situation is not perfect, but improving. Speak-Up:yeah:!

Looks like we're SOL. I saw the same response this morning when I logged in. I am curious to know how they decide on who receives these scholarships. I think most of us out here are 0 efc. Do we have to have a 720 on our credit score? Do we have to be over or under a certain age? Does our tuition have to be within a certain $ amount? I'll be done with school March 2011 and will seriously consider relocating to another country:yeah:
