Hello all,
I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.
Everyone chill out. We will be notified by regular mail and they were postmarked yesterday. I imagine by Monday or Tuesday all the letters will have reached their destinations. Just relax, if you hype yourself up and don't get it then you could drop into a depression. Just realize that you will get through school one way or another. If you get it, awesome, if not, thats okay.
"Thank you for submitting the application for the Nursing Scholarship Program (NSP) for the 2009-2010 academic year.If you are selected to receive an award you will be notified by letter and email in August or early September. If you are not selected for an award you will be notified by letter or e-mail by no later than October 30. "
this is the original e-mail i recieved after applying. they are late! and no one has gotten an e-mail! it just not right.
i just called to see if i could veridy the scholarship too ... and they told me that they coiuldnt give that info over the phone... they told me to check the mail for thte next 2 weeks and if nothing comes to check the email for an email stating u didnt get the scholarship and the reason why you didnt get it... she also told me the last letters went out 2 days ago..... so hopefully good news is on the way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smackingf
They called me this morning, at 6:30. I didn't call them. They called to verify my bank account number and I was told that the awards HAVE been sent out by mail and that my information will be arriving shortly. I don't think they will release any information if you call them, I never got any out of them. Just know that the letters are sent, and perhaps they will call to verify bank account info.
Also- many of the people from the '08 thread received the scholarship, the odds are in your favor, I think many of you will be getting notification soon! Good luck to all! The most giant burden has just been lifted off of my and my fiance's shoulders!

Looks like we're SOL. I saw the same response this morning when I logged in.
I am curious to know how they decide on who receives these scholarships. I think most of us out here are 0 efc. Do we have to have a 720 on our credit score? Do we have to be over or under a certain age? Does our tuition have to be within a certain $ amount? I'll be done with school March 2011 and will seriously consider relocating to another country:yeah:
