I thought I would start a thread for those who have applied, do that we can keep each other posted on what is going on with the process. Also here to promote tons of positivity for everyone.
In the end, is this an actual reward or a financial stop gap? About how much is a full year's benefits? ~15k? Would you be paid less than normal at the places they assign you? If I wanted to get a masters, is it possible that I may be assigned to a specialty that would not help you when you applied for a masters program? Since applicants need 0 EFC, im guessing they must already get some financial aid, will this stack with that?
No no no. You pick which ever hospital/specialty you's like. Since most every hospital has a critical nursing shortage you go where you'd like. The contract is with the govt, not the hospital. The hospital pays you the rate you negotiate with them. You get all tuition paid less any grants, however, you can opt to not go the financial aid route if you get a full scholarship right? I mean why take away from someone who can get grants and no scholarship. This actually helps those like myself could not contemplate working and going to nursing school in the same time.
Hey, anyone out there? I have a question. We're going into our second year of nursing school. Do we need to submit another verification form report/ data collection form and another signed contact for 2009-2010? When I turned in my application last year, I requested a two year extension. So I requested funding for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 and the secretary of health and human services signed for both years. However, I'm just wondering is there anything else we need to submit to them for this upcoming year?
Thanks
