2013-2014 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program

I know it is entirely too early but I wanted to get a thread going for all of you who are planning to apply for the NSP this upcoming year. I know it is becoming more and more popular and there are always questions and people wanting to share experiences and such so I hope this thread will become helpful! I have signed up to get the alert for when the application is available for the 2013-2014 FY and hope to meet others who will be applying as well.

Mine says the same thing: "under review". I called and the lady confirmed that they aren't through handing out the scholarships yet. My credit was checked 7/15 so I'm trying to be positive but I'm still paranoid.

I have been a member of Quizzle for a couple of years to keep track of it and I noticed it on there. I heard you can go to creditkarma.com and you don't have to use a credit card, though.

Hey Chessi89, by writing that last post I was meaning to calm nerves, not make anyone feel more stressed. Sorry for that. Look through last year's posts and you can see some of the discussion, some say no one was rejected after their award, and some say that one was post their "congrats" letter. Being a forum...who knows. I want to believe that we are all good!

Same here! I'm definitely stressing. It's making me a little crazy! Even though they assured me it only has to do with the pace of the person reading your application.

Got my award email on June 18th, sent in the required documents and it says "Under Final Review" The paragraph did state that I have not yet been selected definitely. I called regarding my W-4 missing a portion and was told that once the paperwork is cleared I will be able to make any changes necessary. Appears that as long as everything is correct on your paperwork the initial award statement is correct! I'm in IL, BSN program with 1 year left, EFC of 0, and GPA of 3.48 at the time of applying. Hope this helps!

If it helps anyone! I got the congratulations email on July 18th and they checked my credit on 7/16.
