I know it is entirely too early but I wanted to get a thread going for all of you who are planning to apply for the NSP this upcoming year. I know it is becoming more and more popular and there are always questions and people wanting to share experiences and such so I hope this thread will become helpful! I have signed up to get the alert for when the application is available for the 2013-2014 FY and hope to meet others who will be applying as well.

Last years posts people started receiving award emails on August 3rd. I am just so anxious.

Is this about getting a scholarship?

I applied for many but my school is not at all supportive. Why would they check your credit.

In answer to an earlier question, I used quizzle.com to check my credit, and I found it under "Credit Report" and then "Credit Inquiries". But, like I said earlier, creditkarma.com didn't show an inquiry at all. I don't think anyone should lose hope at all...it seems like the whole credit check thing is hit or miss--sometimes it shows on your credit report, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it seems like an early credit check is a good sign, and sometimes it seems like it means nothing at all. I think we're all just going to have to sit tight until the results come out....

And I'm going for an accelerated bachelors in Massachusetts. EFC: 0

I agree with you about sitting tight. Quizzle only shows 1 credit inquiry out of 4 for me, and knowing that Credit Karma didn't even show yours makes me feel a bit better... I will continue to monitor my credit and hope that something shows up, and won't give up hope just yet. It is still so early!

This is random... Is your last name near the beginning of the alphabet? I'm wondering if its going in alphabetical order perhaps? Or maybe by region?

I haven't checked my credit yet but I'm in my second year of a 2.5 year BSN program in Colorado. My EFC is also 0. Lots to do on my day off today but might have to sign up for a credit check thing...

Maybe by region??? Didn't they divide the regions by color or something last year? or was that for something else? so maybe they are checking the east coast right now: since Tennessee and Massachusetts have checks! I'm in Texas, so fingers crossed for a check by the end of this week or early next week!

I just received the email today saying I was awarded the scholarship! I never had my credit checked, live in Maine, BSN student with last name that starts with W. I am so excited!

They awarded a scholarship already? What did the email say? Wow, that's exciting. Congratulations!

Cupcake, it could be by region. If that's the case, I'm in Florida and my credit hasn't been checked, so I probably will not be receiving the scholarship. Oh well!

Yup, I just got an e-mail saying I'd been awarded. Freaking out.

I'm in Massachusetts, last name L, Accelerated Bachelors.
