I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?
Thank you! Undergrad GPA was a 3.7 and grad was a 3.8. I have a masters in public health and worked under an office of workforce develop under a federal opioid grant. So I developed programs and monitored programs for those using state services. I also served as a consultant to advance Medicaid regulations for those with opioid use disorders. As for clinical experience, I shadowed an orthopedic surgeon and physician assistant.

I have a Bachelors in Biology and a Masters in Healthcare Administration.
After graduating college, I participated in a MHIRT program and did scientific research in Brazil for the Summer.
I’ve volunteered at a nursing home in my city with my father who owns a home healthcare agency.
I also volunteered with my sorority.
EFC: 0
GPA: 3.9
Just got an email around 9pm East central time that I am a finalist.
I am in a BSN program! My GPA was a 3.3 when I applied, I submitted my application the day before the due date and I had about a solid 9 years of underserved volunteer work.
Good luck to everyone! Sending good vibes to you all!
Just got my finalist email around 9pm today!!
I literally cried and cried! For anyone wondering STATS: undergrad 3.5 GPA, in an accelerated BSN program now, and 2 years of work as a patient advocate in community clinic for underserved patients near the poverty line. Also 6+ years as an aid for special needs. I honestly gave up all hope of being a finalist so whoever is still waiting, hang in there, there’s hope!

Hi!! I am a BSN student at Chamberlain University. I ran out of federal funding and cannot qualify for any private loans. Unfortunately I had to take a leave of absence from my progrAM due to gap in funds (and owing a balance) currently paying down and set to be registered fall 2020 and hopefully graduate May 2021.
I received a finalist email as of 8pm CST to complete paperwork by end of 7/24; but no credit check as of yet. I was told that there are a few rounds to get through before being considered a "participant" GPA 3.3; EFC 3700; applied 5/8; finalist 7/17
Does anyone know if taking a LOA from your program affects the award decision?
btw Congratulations everyone! Stay hopeful and prayed up during this time of uncertainty!!
