HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello fellow RN's/APRN's,

Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!

Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.

Here are my qualifiers:

FNP-C

Behavioral Health - Pediatrics

DTI <100% - Just at 0.95%  (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)

HPSA Score: 13

Best of luck everyone!

Blah, still waiting on a counter signature. I wish there was more info on being picked as a finalist but not getting the award. I've checked the PA and MD forums and nothing there. Maybe that's actually a good sign?  @c_klug1990

I wonder what's the latest they'll send an email?

I am losing hope.

I just figured after 5pm there will be no email. Also I know they have until Sept 30th.

Seems like that would be a good sign even though the call center still said I could be denied.

I have a DTI ratio of 96% and I have not had my credit checked. I am guessing I am too far down the list because I am tier 2. Has anyone with DTI less than 100% had their credit checked, been a finalist, or awarded? I am an RN if it matters. The call center said a lot of people are still under review  but I am curious if I have any shot or maybe I filled out something wrong.

I was working at a state hospital but left and went traveling in August. I was planning on just to do 13 weeks assignment then come back as full time. Well I got a notification I'm a finalist and accepted it. Will I be disqualified since I left? Or can I show proof that I'm still returning to the state hospital?

Did you get the co-signature yet? I think it says as long as you can prove you are working at an approved site it should be fine.

I signed. But have not received a co-signature yet. The hospital I'm working at qualifies as CSF also but it's not listed on the application. Just deciding on what to do if I do get it ugh. 4 years in a row and never been a finalist until now ?

You just inform them of the change in hospital

I would reach out and speak to them. I was reviewing the criteria again, because I'm paranoid LOL, and 2 exclusions are I'd you are a travel nurse/work for a staffing agency. Or transfer to another eligible CSF after submitting but prior to receiving the award, specifically states must be working at the CSF on the application. I know there is a process once you've signed that you can possibly transfer, but has to be to the same or higher level CSF. Given your unique circumstances I'd call so nothing bad happens and you're deemed ineligible or in default or your obligation

Thanks I will call after work!
