HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello fellow RN's/APRN's,

Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!

Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.

Here are my qualifiers:

FNP-C

Behavioral Health - Pediatrics

DTI <100% - Just at 0.95%  (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)

HPSA Score: 13

Best of luck everyone!

So is it not true that if they pull your credit, you should be a finalist.  I had mine pulled 2 times. I am getting very discouraged because I have not heard anything yet and looking at all the post my DTI is  higher than most that got accepted and my HRSA score is also.

Same. I am getting very discouraged.
They pulled my credit back in May and I only applied to this program.

Same here!  Credit pulled early August and have heard nothing.

My contract was cosigned this morning (9/7). And I'm sure it is frustrating if you are waiting to hear back. I have heard that most people who have their credit checked get approved, but they seem to be making their way through the formula. People have heard back as late as September. I'm hoping for the best for everyone!

So am I the only nurse faculty that applied?! ?

My credit was pulled back in May but I still haven't heard anything. I am getting so anxious waiting! I wish they would just tell us if we got rejected or not first instead of making us wait with false hope :c

Really starting to lose hope. Had my credit checked back in May. Still hoping and checking daily though. For those who have applied before and didn't get it, were you notified why you didn't get it after the cycle is closed?

I've applied before and didn't get it.  This is what the email said last year.  I keep trying every year hoping one year it will happen.

Thanks for the info. That was really helpful. Here's to holding out hope for a last minute email for both of us ?

Did you have your credit pulled last year??

Yeah I did

Has anyone applied previously been a finalist and been denied the loan repayment? They said I am a finalist, I signed my contract July 3rd and have heard nothing since. When I called they told me I could still be denied. Getting really discouraged. Two people from my job already got welcome emails.

I wonder what's the latest they'll send an email?

I am losing hope.
