How do you store your stethoscope?

Published

What is the best way to store my stethoscope at my house? In a drawer somewhere, hung on a hook, or how?

(sorry, stupid question I know. But my husband bought me this stethoscope last Christmas when I decided I was finally going to go back to school so not only do I want to take care of it for obvious reasons [hello - PRICEY], but it also holds extreme sentimental value to me.)

Thanks!

In Florida (and probably most or all other states) it is illegal to drive with things dangling from your rear view mirror. As a precision instrument, baking a stethoscope in a hot parked car will eventually cause problems.

I started nursing school in the Winter semester, not last winter but the one before, and my husband got mine for me too and I store it in my clinical bag :) Thats about it.

Though I haven't started the program yet, I bought a white memory box from Michael's for $3.99. I labelled it with my label maker for "School Supplies", and inside I placed my stethoscope, BP cuff & case, hemostats, gait belt, pen lights, bandage scissors, and pocket organizer. They all actually fit perfectly in the box. Hope this helps!

same as others, in my clinical bag!

I don't have a clinical bag yet, so I just keep it in the box it came in :) I love my baby pink Littman!

just be careful with the baby pink. Mine is the same, and has black marks all over it that won't come off :( I ended up buying a cover for it from Etsy.

I just kept mine in my clinical bag...if I needed it for lab, I just threw it in my backpack. I went through school with a Littmann Classic II S.E. and it held up just fine.

Mine hangs on the door knob of my closet. I've stored it like that for all 7 years I've had it and it still works just as well as the day I bought it.
