What is the best way to store my stethoscope at my house? In a drawer somewhere, hung on a hook, or how?
(sorry, stupid question I know. But my husband bought me this stethoscope last Christmas when I decided I was finally going to go back to school so not only do I want to take care of it for obvious reasons [hello - PRICEY], but it also holds extreme sentimental value to me.)
Thanks!
if your keeping it in storage for a period of time, best way is inside the box that it came in when you bought it. If to be used daily ,just don't crimp the tubing and do not damage the thin membrane on the end of the stethoscope that comes in contact with the patient. And don't expose to extreme temperature , hot or cold , for it damages the tubing.
I throw it in my locker, dashboard in the ambulance, or on the counter at home. It otherwise rides around my neck while I am working.
Littman Classic II that has been with me for 10+ years, 100,000+ miles, and 10,000+ patients.
I have never hung it on anything or stored it in a bag or box where it might be compressed. Pockets are also not an option, those are for the throw aways.
I found this online and thought I would share. It looks like a neat way to stay organized. Any thoughts?
Uh...my nurse bag?
I put them in there when I leave and don't look at them again until I go back to work.
One is a master cardiology Littman; the other is the electronic stethoscope.
I babied them when I got them. Now? Meh.
I will say that if you have a cardiology III, you don't need an electronic steth. I just got the cardiology bc I thought I broke my electronic steth.
Auscultation is good and the cardiology is way lighter.
