Stethoscopes
I currently own a Littmann Classic II S.E, and I am upgrading to a Cardiology III. I am in my third semester, but recently had the opportunity to listen through the Cardiology III and what a difference! I hear just fine with the Classic, but I hear with less interference with the Cardiology III. Try going into a medical store and testing different models out before you make the purchase to see which one you hear better with. Allheart.com has great prices for scopes as well. Good luck :)

Started my first week of classes...
I'm so overwhelmed. I feel like I'm already drowning in assignments and studying that I can't even focus on what to complete first! Though I am a fairly organized individual, I feel so unorganized and just all over the place. I'll be in my room studying, and before I know it, my mind is going a mile a minute and I am then trying to complete 5 things at once. I know this is the first week, and knew I was in for a big challenge - but I literally sat in my classroom today and asked myself, "Can you really do this!?" I'm sure others have felt this way but I will ask this anyway.... has anyone felt this way their first week!? How can you possibly fit everything that you have to do in a 24 hour period, and what did you do to help manage the tough course load? My problem is time management, which, thankfully I have realized now vs. 6 weeks from now. I am putting things down in a priority list as far as when assignments are due and what I need to complete by what time. I feel like I have no time for reading after my assignments, though. I can honestly say I am terrified. I don't even want to go to sleep because I feel like I am wasting valuable study time. Sorry. I just needed to get that all out.

What to label your dividers?
So my program starts in two weeks (yay!!), and I am putting together my binders for each class. I bought Case-It binders, so they are like a trapper keeper type style. I bought this type of binder for my couponing (it's called a Z-binder, so it's an enormous binder because it's two combined into one!) and fell in love with it. I just got a regular one for school though because it would be way too heavy and bulky to bring a big Z-binder to class everyday. The folders I will be using for class are actually pretty neat. They come with 5 built in side divider tabs already inside the cover. I bought more, though, for my handouts, powerpoints, etc. So far, I have my 5 built in side divider labels labelled as follows: Schedule, Syllabus, Due Today, Homework, & Test Material The separate dividers I bought for the 3 rings, I only have 3 labelled because I am honestly stuck with what else I should attempt to label/prepare for! The 3 labels I have so far are: Powerpoints, Key Terms, & Notes. The pack comes with 8 dividers. I know I have to be super organized throughout the program, so I am just trying to get a head start. I also know that I probably won't know how to label all of my folders until I start class... but I just wanted to see if anyone was/has wondered the same thing, or possibly get some advice from students who are further into their own program. I looked through other threads but could not find an answer that I was looking for.. Anyway, below is a picture of my folders, as well as a link to the folder that has more pictures of how it opens and whatnot. I bought two purple, & two blue (I'm color coding my days as well lol) http://www.caseit.com/the-open-tab

Wheeled backpack
It's really not that big of a deal to me. I was looking for opinions on the specific bag that I had already purchased, being that I haven't started my program yet. Believe me, I read all of those posts, even searched via the search bar. Since none of the posts that I read had the answers to my question, I posted one regarding my own wheeled backpack, and whether or not it was too big. :)

Wheeled backpack
I appreciate your response, SNkat :) More than likely I will be needing to use the wheeled backpack, but I am going to be keeping my reciepts just in case I don't. I will definitely be needing the room, so I bought the SwissGear rolling bag because it expands and it's huge!! Of course, after I bought it a little voice kept asking, "What if it's too big!?" ... I've been driving myself crazy over what type of bag to get for school :/

Wheeled backpack
Thank you, Mama_Cashew! I felt the same way I just didn't care to respond to the first comment. Because believe me, I checked into previous threads before posting my question about the rolling backpack that I bought. I hate rolling backpacks, I really do. I know it will be better for my back (which is bad to begin with!), so that's why I was leaning more towards buying one anyway lol... they aren't exactly cute! I'd rather have a messenger bag, but I'm going to keep the tags & reciept for my wheeled one just in case I find I don't really need to use it. I start October 1! :)

Wheeled backpack
So I feel like I've been going back and forth between different bags for school. First, I was thinking of a messenger bag, but then I got my books and decided that a rolling backpack would probably be better. I bought a SwissGear wheeled laptop bag from Staples this past weekend and it is really big. I think it will fit my books with no problem, but now I'm wondering if it is too big? I'm so indecisive!! What do you guys think? Here is the link to the bag I purchased: http://www.staples.com/SWISSGEAR-Patriot-Wheeled-Laptop-Case-Black-17in/product_505297

How do you store your stethoscope?
Though I haven't started the program yet, I bought a white memory box from Michael's for $3.99. I labelled it with my label maker for "School Supplies", and inside I placed my stethoscope, BP cuff & case, hemostats, gait belt, pen lights, bandage scissors, and pocket organizer. They all actually fit perfectly in the box. Hope this helps!

Organization and shoe question for new nursing student..
Hello everyone!! I'm new to this website and this is my first post/question, so bear with me! I start the nursing program in October, so I'm trying to purchase all the supplies and get myself organized way in advance so that I am (or feel like I am, anyway) 100% prepared for my first day of class. So far I'm just a little unsure how I should organize my binders. I have looked for past forum posts so that I wouldn't have to make a second post on the same subject, but nothing is quite what I am looking for, so here it goes... I bought two 2 inch Case-it binders, one blue and one purple, because I am going to attempt to color code my binders with the classes I will be taking my first semester. I don't think that two classes will fit in one binder, so I will probably go out and purchase two more binders. Also, I am tossing the idea around to have two separate Kipling messenger bags for my Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs classes. Is this a good organizational method to go by, or is there a better way to prepare? I've never felt so unsure of how to organize myself before I start a class!! Also, the shoes. I am debating on purchasing New Balance shoes. I tried on a pair the other day and absolutely loved how comfortable they are! I have two bulging discs in my lumbar spine, so I need to find something with good support. They are to be white leather and have a back. Anyway, are New Balance shoes the best to get for the problem with my back, or is there a better pair of shoes out there? I'm so glad I found this website... I'm looking forward to the responses and ideas from everyone :)
