Calling graduating class of 2014!
I started my ASN program on August 27! Made it through a full week with only one mental breakdown lol. Sooo much reading! It's overwhelming at times but I keep reminding myself "they accepted you into the program because they believe you will succeed and graduate!" and I just take it one day at a time. I'm sure it'll fly by! I managed to make two 100% scores on the first two quizzed too! Nice way to start the program! I WILL graduate May 2014. Failure is not an option! Good luck to all the other future nurses out there! We can do this!

How do you store your stethoscope?
I played with it for a day or two after Christmas and then stored it safely back in the box ever since. I just now took it out of the box to look at it, and apparently I didn't store it right because there's a "crease" or something in the tubing close to the bottom where it meets the round thing (newbie student - don't know the technical terms yet!). Will this hinder my ability to hear? Darn it. Back to my original post - I guess I'll just leave it in my clinical bag. I didn't consider germs (yuck) but thanks for the heads up. I was also going to get it engraved with my initials, but they spell BAM (haha, when I got married and changed my name I thought that was awesome) and I'm afraid someone would think I was being "cute" or "unprofessional" or something. My last name is somewhat long (8 letters) so what do you think I should do?

How do you store your stethoscope?
What is the best way to store my stethoscope at my house? In a drawer somewhere, hung on a hook, or how? (sorry, stupid question I know. But my husband bought me this stethoscope last Christmas when I decided I was finally going to go back to school so not only do I want to take care of it for obvious reasons [hello - PRICEY], but it also holds extreme sentimental value to me.) Thanks!

Can you guys give me an example of a day in the life of a nursing student?
I start my ADN nursing program on August 27! So excited :) Here's what my schedule looks like: Monday: 8a-12p Health Assessment; 5p-7:20p Dietetics Tuesday: 8a-9:15 Physiology; 1p-3:50 Physiology lab Wednesday: Clinical from 7:30a-12:30p Thursday: 8a-9:15 Physiology Friday: 8a-12p Health Assessment Total of 16 credit hours. Next semester I'll only have 8 credit hours. Not too bad of a schedule! I just wish I didn't live 45-60 minutes away because I have a feeling some mornings are going to be very hard to wake up and get moving to make it on time for my early morning classes...
