How do you prevent yourself from failing?

Published

HI, I was just wondering wherer all of you get your strength from for continuing on with your education. I have been married to my husband since the age of 19. We both met in South Korea while in the military. Two months into dating he was diagnosed with Von-Hippel Lindau. A type of genetic kidney cancer. Well, this past December after moving all of our belongings to Louisiana into the new house he bought he told me he wanted a divorce ( I didn't do any cheating). I had to stay back to finish my semester in school. I continued on with this spring semester to try to keep me focused on something else but I withdrew in March. I now have 4 W's in my record. It was just too much. I am guessing it was just a premature marriage and that this is why we did not work. I will be going back to school in the summer time. But for future reference, how do you do it? How do you keep yourself focused? I am so worried about being accepted to any school out of state with 4 W'S in my record, so I have decided to stay here in Vegas and go to UNLV. I guess that my chances will be greater if I stay here. My focus now is to just accomplish my BSN. How do you prevent yourself from failing?:crying2:

I started school in 2002 and it has been a looong road. I have had MANY personal issues that I think would have broke alot of people, but I kept going. If you want something bad enough, that passion will keep you from failing. I knew I wanted to become a nurse and NOTHING was getting in my way.I will now be graduating on May 15th with my ADN, and you better believe I won't quit school until I have my PHD! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your goals because you can.I have been non-stop all these years, even if it meant taking just one class a semester.I had to take chemistry 3 times and A&P 2 twice before applying to NS,and that didn't mean I wasn't going to do well in the program(I make very good grades).Just know what you want, go for it and I promise you will not fail ;)

You arre worried about the wrong thing.

Worry about getting all A's!

Thank you for your advice. I guess that in the end, problems big or small will keep coming and all you can do is to keep going, after all, nobody else can accomplish your goals for you right? Thanks again.

My anti-failture advice is just working as hard as you can and believing in yourself. People who have different majors often say "It does not take all of that studying!" Don't listen to them. They just don't understand the hard task we have and the amount of information we have to understand. Best wishes.

How do I prevent myself from failing? Failure is NOT an option!

Especially while paying out-of-state tuition.

Failure is a waste of time and money, and my family has little to spare in both departments.

You're worrying about Ws?????

It's the Fs that Are the problem:) and you don't have any of those!

Stay focused by putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving.

I'm having to drop micro to be able to save my GPA of 4.0 but it's Not the

end of the world as so many on this board have helped me to see.

You're going to make it!
