Hi my fellow Nursing Students
I want to know how old were you when you started Nursing school. RN's and LPN's are welcome to answer.
I'm in my early 30's, married with three babies, ages five and under. I'm a little nervous and worried that I may have started a little late at following my dream to become a nurse.
Thanks everyone:D
I was 54 it took me three years going full time no summers off. I waited until the last child was gone my husband worked in Alaska for the BLM so I could pay for school. I graduated in 2005 with my ADN and I work full time in a small critical access hospital in Washington state. I am the acute care, ED, out patient, and assist with long term care. I love what I do and hope to be able to do it for a long time.
I start my ADN on the 28th, my birthday, and I will be 38. I am married, have two children 9 and 5. I started some of my readings for the first day of lecture and I already feel overwhelmed. But we want this, why else would have chose to go back after so many years?! Trust me life was kind of normal with a 9-5 job...but something has been pulling me toward this career for many years...I just finally decided to take the leap!

I started when I was 20 and will graduate this May at 22, I do not have any children or anything like that but I really respect the women who are still following their dream at that age! I love going to school/studying with people in the program older than myself because they are much more serious about their education. You have a lot more life experiences than us doing it right out of high school and I think it brings a lot :) good luck!
