I am going to a community college in the suburbs of Chicago. Total (pre-reqs and nursing classes, plus childcare) it will cost me about $20,000. I am including the childcare because it is more than half. Just for classes and books would be about $7000. But since I have three kids who are not yet school aged, I have to have daycare while I am in class. It would be 4x more expensive to have them at a daycare center, so I am lucky to have someone come to my house to watch them
Tuition for 9 semesters for my BSN is roughly $24,000 at a public university. Luckily my parents take care of that for me, and I pay for books and supplies because I'd feel guilty if they covered everything. I have a part time job and get to keep that for my own use. I'm saving up for a nice graduation present... I think I deserve it
I just got accepted into nursing school and I'm very excited! The next step is applying for financial aid/loans. I'm alittle anxious about that. How was that process for everyone else? Was it smooth? I'm alittle worried about getting financial aid because I just bought a house and I'm not sure if i would qualify?
Starting Nursing School on Jan. 4th - Accelerated ADN program. Had my financial aid meeting last this week - felt a little sick when I left. Will owe over $30K in student loans when I graduate. Was very disappointed with the amount of financial aid I received but the then again, the school itself is quite expensive. Was thinking I would owe about $20K, not $30K. In any event, it will all be worth it.
How much can you really afford or not afford for College Education?
That is the reality check question.
There are so many New Graduates that can not find Jobs now.

Why would any one spend $100,000.00 to for a BSN?
It is insane at this time and even until to year 2020.

I attend a private LPN-to-RN (ADN) program that will cost me over $19,000 in tuition. I am not even including miscellaneous expenses such as supplies, gas, food, rent, clothing, etc.
