Just wondering what other nurses are paying for care to make myself feel better after seeing the sticker shock today for my own kid's daycare!I have a 2 year old, 5 year old, and 8 year old. 3 days a week = $1,300/month. Does that sound crazy or no? More than my mortgage. Granted I have the peace of mind my kids will be in a safe place, and that's priceless, but the price tag hurts.
My husband works nurse hours even though he isn't one so even working opposite shifts won't work because we always have a gap plus I guess we need to sleep at some point too
Yikes! Is it even worth it to work full time? I plan to work one day a week and keep my kids out of day care. My home life is busy ...and I am sleep deprived, but I'd rather be busy and exhausted taking care of my kids than strangers.
I have 2 kids and when they were too young for school I paid $30k a year for both of them. With just one it was $19k a year.I took them to a nicer place though but the quality of education was superb. Totally worth it.
Thank you, that helps!! It is an excellent center and I can't imagine leaving them in better hands but we are the only couple I know with 3 kids so I always get "you pay WHAT" when I tell anyone with 1-2 kids what we pay for care lol. They are willing to work my rotating schedule and that's hard to find as well.
We pay about $1500 per month for 2 kids, one they were younger it was over $2000 per month, and that's at the YMCA which is one of the cheaper places in town. That sounded ridiculous to me too at first, but the average cost of childcare nationwide is about $1000 per month, so it's pretty typical.
