Let's compare hourly pay. Please state you city:
St. Louis, MO: $12.75 (plus differential for weekend/might)
I live in Oklahoma City and im going to take the AUA class in April 2013. Which hospitals pay well? and how is the job? pros and cons? Ive been a cna since 2008 and have been working in an assisted living in the memory care unit. Just looking for a change until i can start nursing school.
MRS. PEREZ, I too live in OKC! OU Medical Center is an excellent hospital, and the pay is competitive for the area; however, the differential is one of the lowest in the city for nights. If you are interested in Integris Baotist, or Southwest, those hospitals are clean, and I hear Integris Southwest ER has one of the best patient turnarounds around. You will be busy, but it makes time fly and it is rewarding to be able to have more responsibilities to build on, and when you get to nursing school, it will only make it easier as you learn! If you get to work in the ER or the ICU, you will learn alot through the nurses and observation. Also, the pay where I work at OU Medical is 13.75 with differential at night, 11.25 without differential.
geez, people are making food wages as pct/emt!
I currently make $12 base as a prn pct/huc. I can make anywhere from $13.50- $15.50 depending on shift differential and/or weekend differentials.
I make $15 base as a prn student nurse tech. I can make anywhere from $16.50 to $20.25 depending on shift and/or weekend differentials. I work in kansas and have 1.5 year of experience.

Started off at $20.39 as a per diem ER Tech at a union hospital here in Ventura County,CA. It's about $2.50 differential for night shift.
