How many times were you rejected before getting into nursing program?

I got rejected from 6 different schools (to be fair, 4 of them I didnt qualify for. Think I was overly ambitious) But I finally got accepted into a program and start in two weeks!

these were a mixture of ABSN, ELMSN, and ADN programs. The school Im attending is a ELMSN :)

I applied to 3. 1 rejected me (ADN) and 2 selected me (ADN, BSN).

Rejection was due to incomplete prereqs, btw!

I wonder if these answers would be more helpful if more details were included, such as: the colleges' state or region, if colleges are private vs public, the students' GPAs and health experiences, etc. "Competitive," where I live, means you probably shouldn't apply to any BSN programs if you have less than a 3.5. Not bad.

I like this post. I haven't applied yet but the school I want to go to won't allow you to actually apply until EVERYTHING is done. The advisors actually care about ensuring you know what to do. I hope to get in on my first try. The program is competitive and accelerated. It better be a good program lol It's also BSN. I know a few people who passed everything and have a good chance of getting in. 1 sounds like they don't want to apply lol Which pisses me off because I want to get in!!!! I knew one person who F'd up the grammar part on the HESI A2 entrance exam twice and she ended up not getting in because she didn't make the minimum or above requirement those two times.

Lucky. I applied to a BSN program with a 4.0 w/ standardized test included which I did not make the greatest score unfortunately. I'm currently waiting on the admission decision though.

How do you apply to multiple programs if you aren't enrolled in the college? Do you get accepted into the program then apply to the college or what?

I applied to two nursing programs but I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted to major in at the time so I applied to other schools as undecided. One school said my SAT scores weren't high enough for their nursing program, and the other accepted me. So I was in the BSN program the fall after graduating high school. I now realize how lucky I was!

How do you apply to multiple programs if you aren't enrolled in the college? Do you get accepted into the program then apply to the college or what?

You apply to the college and select the nursing program on the application! Sometimes you can get accepted into the school itself but not the nursing program because of the wait list or certain requirements.. so at that point you could enroll into your college classes and work on your pre-requisites until a spot opens up.

At our community colleges, you have to fill out a nursing application regardless of what you put on the application into the college. Is this not the same everywhere? So I'm wondering if I need to apply to the college first or submit an application first then get enrolled into the school.
