So far I have applied to two BSN programs. Was rejected from one, and accepted to the other, but then decided that school wasn't the one for me. So, now I will be applying to about 5 BSN programs for Fall 2006, as well as my colleges associates program, as a last resort.
It CAN be discouraging, I know..But, don't give up! You will get in to the RIGHT school!

I've heard there have been lOooonnnnngggg waiting lists for ADN and BSN programs. Just out of curiousity, what else do you need to have under your belt to get into these programs besides your grades? I've realized that it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get there just as long as you get there.
I applied to two schools for their ADN programs, one of the schools admit 2 times a year Spring and Fall the second school just started admitting 3 times a year Spring, Fall and Winter I applied 2 times to the first school and 3 times to the second. ON Tuesday July 18th I received a phone call from the second school offering me a spot in the Fall class, someone had dropped out. I am so excited! Hang in there prayers are answered.
Keep the Faith

I was just wondering how many times others have applied to nursing school before actually getting in. I applied last fall for one program but was put on a waiting list. So this fall I am taking the pre-reqs for a BSN, and will be applying for both an assoc. and bach.A little discouraged,

I applied once and was accepted. BUT from what I've heard, it's quite common to be put on a waiting list or rejected because it's hard to get in. My school doesn't have a waiting list, they take the best 40 applicants each year and that's that. Mind you, I quit working to take my pre-reqs so I could give school my full attention. I studied day and night for the TEAS so I could get a good score. Not everyone can devote that much time - I have no kids and am not married (in a serious relationship, but he understands when I have to blow him off to study). I HAD to get in. I'm up to my ears in debt because I've screwed around the last couple of years and done nothing.
Don't be discouraged, it'll happen.
