How many students do you treat on a regular day?

How many students do you see on a regular day, not counting the "full moon days"?

I see/treat roughly 15-20 students daily.

I have 2 schools, upper Elementary (3-5) approximately 240 students, 9 daily meds, plus 15 - 20 illness visits a day (I am there 2 days a week)

Middle School (6-8) approximately 850+ students, 10 daily meds, plus 30 - 40 illness visits a day (I am there 3 days a week).

I average 20-25 students in a school of close to 500. Full-moon days much more. That's not including staff and parents...

Yesterday I had a dad come to my office and ask if I had a black light. :bored: Umm...Nope.

He had apparently gotten a piece of metal in his eye and wanted me to check if he had a corneal abrasion. I kindly educated him on how the fluorescein test works and that I do not have such magical capabilities.

If only my Superman vision was working...

110 screenings.

Multiple phone calls, several parents stopped by, etc, etc,

Just another bon-bon eating day!!!

My school has around 680 kids, grades preK through 5. I am there 3 days per week, but the health assistant is there 5 days per week. We see around 25-30 kids for episodic visits. We had 53 on Monday, which is our record! In addition, we have 12 daily meds and 3 diabetics (2 are in kindergarten). We are quite busy! (:

Yep I was right! Afternoon, 1pm-3pm 22!! 5 sent home and of course the know it all teacher insisting I send home the kid with a really bad case of...dandruff! She insisted it was the dreaded super lice!

Lesson learned!

That dreaded white stuff started falling from the sky again this afternoon, possible 3 day weekend?!! This county closes school if 3 snow flakes are seen in a 24 hour period. I won't complain but would rather go in tomorrow than have another day taken from Spring break at the end of the month.
