I would like to know how many nursing schools everyone else is applying to. I was thinking about applying to 3 or 4 incase I don't get into the one I really want. I am hoping to get accepted to a couple of them so I can have my pick of which one I want to go to. How many schools is everyone else applying to?

I am applying to 7 accelerated BSN programs! Bleh! It really is a lot of work and very expensive too but I am just trying to ensure that I get in somewhere! (hopefully) I just can't imagine not getting in this time around as waiting another year to apply would be murderous on the soul!

One. I was going to apply to a second one but it is too far away and some of my clinicals will be even further. There is are three to four more options but they would require that I move plus they are too expensive. So I am focused on one ADN program and one local RN-BSN bridge program.
By the way, I was rejected my first attempt earlier this year but I have another shot for the class starting in January. I think I might make it this time since I have maxed out several categories (unlike the last time).
Anyway, waiting has not been death to my soul because I have God, I had more classes to complete, I have a family, I have hobbies, and I work. Good luck everyone.

Hello, I am looking for a one year LPN progran or a 18 month RN program that requires no prereqs and is inexpensive. Maybe around the Virginia or Washington DC area. Please let me know if any of you now of anything.

I am applying to all 3 RN (AAS) programs in my area. My 1st and 3rd choice school begins January 2007 and my 2nd choice school in Aug 2007. It's important for me to establish a back-up plan (and a back-up to my back-up in this case) in case my 1st choice doesn't work out, but I did just receive my letter this weekend that I've been selected to interview for my 1st choice so I am very excited!!
Good Luck!

I haven't decided 100% yet, but I think I am only applying to 2, 1 ADN program and 1 BSN program. There are 5 BSN programs around me but the only problem is the requirements aren't the same accross the board which makes it hard to apply for all. Some schools want NET testing, some want HESI testing, some have different requirements in the classes you have to take. One school wants a class in women's studies while another school wants a class in religious studies and yet another wants communications courses. I basically researched all the programs, found the one that I thought was best for me and downloaded that school's requirements and have been taking those required classes. I know it's not wise to put all your eggs in one basket so to speak, but honestly I just don't feel I would be happy in any other program besides the ones I choose. So I will just apply to the BSN school and do lots of praying! Then I have the ADN school as my backup plan.

Just one. But while I'm waiting to hear on whether I get accepted or not, I'll be working on finishing off one last prereq required for another school's program. If I don't get accepted first go-round at the first place, I'll apply through the second school too.

Hi...my first application process I applied to just 1 and was horribly disappointed when I got put on the alternate list. This time 4 schools and 2 LPN schools. I have a guaranteed spot in the LPN school for Jan 07, so if I don't get into an AS program by Jan, then I am doing the LPN and will just bridge when I'm done with the LPN.
I was thinking about doing the same thing. I really want to go straight for my BSN, but I will go for a ADN if I don't get into the BSN program. I looked at all the different BSN schools around here and they all have different pre-reqs. I am just going to apply to the BSN program I have the pre-reqs for and another 1 or 2 ADN programs (which generally don't have many pre-reqs...compared to BSN programs atleast). If I don't get into the BSN, but do get into the ADN I will just do a RN-BSN bridge. I just hope I get into the BSN because it will take me the same amount of time as the ADN and I won't have to go back. I'm so scared I won't get in

Three schools, 4 programs.
1 18 month BSn
1 24 month entry MSN
1 24 month BSn
1 12 month Accelerated BSN
I think I'll pull my hair out if I don't get into one of them.

One! I'm so scared I won't get into that school. All the other BSN programs have pre-reqs that I don't have. If I don't get in this year, I will probably look for a job in a hospital to get some experience. I keep telling myself that I am going to get in though
