I'm curious to know.
78 questions in an hour. I thought I failed, but I passed. I will give a shout out to UWORLD. I really felt like they prepared me the most for the NCLEX.
My best friend took the State Boards many years ago when it was a 2 day affair, with 1000 questions, and 6 week waiting period to know if you passed. Thank goodness we don't have to wait that long anymore!
Here is an interesting read on Computer Adaptive Testing. https://www.ncsbn.org/InFocus_Spring2014.pdf Read "Pencils Down, Booklets Closed".
I took NCLEX-PN in '89, 2 day affair with pencil/paper. I don't recall how many there were, as I had to answer all of them, then wait up to 6 weeks for the thick or thin envelope.
I took the NCLEX-RN in 2000, passed in 75 Q. I think I got the results in 2 weeks.
You youngins would be tossing yourselves into oncoming traffic if you had to wait 6 weeks...
I had the minimum 75 questions and was so nervous I failed! They say the more select all that apply questions you get the better you are doing... I should have know because just about the last 20 questions were SATA! To stay same and focused I had to ignore the number of questions I had done and just focus on my q&a
Took it in 75 questions...spent 2 weeks reviewing content and one week taking practice tests with a minimum of 4hrs per day reviewing!
During the exam I took a mental break after every 10 questions, made sure I read the questions adequately enough to understand what each question was asking, even the SATA ones!
Finished in less than an hour at 75! Didn't freak out, stayed calm and said my prayers! Overall, the nclex wasn't as bad as it's made to be!

Who cares?
FTR, I took NCLEX-RN when it was called state boards, and you had to take the test over a two day period. I think there were about 800-1000 questions. I didn't count. You had to answer ever single question; no answering 75 questions in 45 minutes and out the door.
