WOW!
Things have sure changed since I was in school. Back then, my program (along with the others in driving distance) accepted 30 students..... 237 applied that year! We were all ranked according to GPA and ACT score. (Shows how many careers are more open to women.) It was a BSN program and all reqs had to be completed except for statistics which was usually taken the summer before the start of the fall (junior) term.
I just wanted to add that 22 finished the program and 50% of the those married had become divorced or separated. I was the only one who got married in the program.
My program accepts 50 students each year, don't know how many applied. I'm no too sure about the gpa and standards as mine wasn't that much but I have 90% of my core curriculum done... It's a BSN program so that must have entered in factor for me... All I have left is before my nursing classes are my sciences which I will complete in the fall...
My program accepts 60 of the traditional option students and about 60 of the acclerated option students for those who have a bachelor's degree in something else already. I am not for sure how many applies though. They do that to keep that class sizes down as well as the clinical group sizes down. I know some schools have clinical groups of 10-12. So far the largest clinical group I had in the hospital setting was about 6. Also there is a shortage of instructors, and they are having a hard time getting enough instructors and many of the instructors that are there now are ready to retire or pretty close to it.

After much debating with myself, I went ahead and applied for nursing school for fall semester. I have just got to take microbiology next summer.
I was wondering, how many does your program admit each year? My program (if I get in and I feel confident I will, but will know for sure by the end of next week:roll ) admits 100 in the fall. It does not admit in the spring. Last year, 150 applied, but of course only 100 got in. They go by GPA and how many coreqs completed. I know that last year they took down to a 2.2 average, and I have a 3.5.
