After much debating with myself, I went ahead and applied for nursing school for fall semester. I have just got to take microbiology next summer.
I was wondering, how many does your program admit each year? My program (if I get in and I feel confident I will, but will know for sure by the end of next week:roll ) admits 100 in the fall. It does not admit in the spring. Last year, 150 applied, but of course only 100 got in. They go by GPA and how many coreqs completed. I know that last year they took down to a 2.2 average, and I have a 3.5.

epg...how many more pre-reqs do you have? Have you started any? If you haven't could you take them this year and try for nursing school next year? That is what I did. Believe me, and I think others will tell you, that it's much easier to get the pre-reqs out of the way before you enter nursing. Is this an option for you? You say you want to give up but is that what YOU really want to do? Keep your head up :kiss try not to get so discouraged. Keep us updated!!
My class usually accepts 30 students, however, after a generous grant was given, we are the first class to accept 40 students. At the end of first year we were down to 31, but 9 LPN's were accepted into the class for 2nd year. So, the class formally consists of 17 LPN's and 23 students. (ONE MALE in the whole class, poor guy!)

I started taking pre-reqs last fall, but I chose correspondence courses that didn't work out too well, the result being I need to go back to a local school this fall to do G12 Math and Chemistry. I have G12 English well in hand, just need to get off my butt and do it. I did G12 academic Biology this spring and scored 90%. I also did a special academic Human Biology course (pre-LNA biology) and scored 85%. But that last one wasn't accepted by either uni. (Not the right number designation, stupid huh?) Academically, I can score well enough to meet the requirements of the institutes I apply to. Not top of the list, but well enough.
The biggest problem I have is with personal and professional references and work history. In my former career (generous term), if I didn't like a situation, my solution was generally to leave. Sometimes it was the right thing to do, sometimes not. I was never concerned about whether I'd need a reference, consequently I did not do the politicking and shmoozing you have to do. Eventually, you dig a hole for yourself that's harder and harder to climb out of. Which is where I am now.
I'm going to the local uni part-time this fall. I am eligible to take two courses. It's better than nothing. And I may be able to persuade professors to help me out with my application between now and then. We'll see.
I don't really want to give up, no. Because then I have to face the entire process of deciding what to do with my life, all over again. Dreadful task that is. And thanks for the kissee face, but I'm a guy
