How many people thought A & P was easy?

Okay, I would not say easy, but not to overly stressful and hard. I mean I had ALOT of memorization and understanding concepts, but it was not as hard as let’s say, micro. Micro was horribly hard for me .

A friend of mine had a test in A & P this past week. They tested on cell respiration, the Krebs cycle, integmentary (sp?) system, AND the bones…..In my opinion, it seems like her test was all over the place, maybe that is why is hard for her. Another thing, my A & P class was broken down into I and II (15 weeks each) Her class is A & P I and II mushed into 15 weeks.

What are your thoughts?

A&P 1 was horribly hard...two students were left to take the final at the end of the semester, I made the A.

Micro....lecture was easier than A&P lecture but the lab was verrrrry hard, luckily I had a good teacher.

I am now in A&P2 and once again... it is HARD. Labtest was fairly easy but the lecture is much tougher.

I believe that the two A&P teachers that I am dealing with at my school are "weedout" teachers who will also put a # of BS questions on the test that don't matter how much you study you may still get them wrong.

It seems like they are playing games that I don't feel I am up to. But once again it may be because they are weeding people out. Only few people get A's in these classes....many are in for repeat or downright fail....averages on the first tests are always frighteningly low, like in the 60's.

To sum it up A&P was harder for me.

I understood A&P, in fact it wasn't difficult for me at all. But the volume of inforation was indeed tedious and too much.

I think this just goes to show that everyone is different. I actually thought Micro was much easier than A&P! I guess I am the oddball here. I ended up with A's in all of them, but I really had to work hard in both A&P I and A&P II to keep my grades up, while Micro. didn't seem near as time-consuming to me. Perhaps it was because I was more interested in the Micro. processes and how diseases are transmitted and contained.

I may add that due to me being from a foreign country doesn't help any...I also had meningitis 5 years ago and was left with learning disability....I need to study twice as hard as the average person to begin with :rolleyes:

I am currently in A&P1 this fall, and it is pure heck. Lab dosn't seem as bad as lecture.The instructor really knows her stuff.And she will flat tell you that if you can't pass her class, she doesn't want you working on her in a hospital. A&P in LPN school wasn't as nit picky as this I'm experienceing now.I'm glad the cell and tissue chapters are over...time to study the bones now.It's neverending.LOL

AP was/is just more timeconsuming and stressful for me. Micro on the other hand was so much fun and came fairly easy for me (98% in that class, compared to getting by with a 90% in AP1)

I'm still in A&P but it is a breeze compared to Micro. I had to study every day for micro to stay on top but with A&P I just memorize things here and there and don't really put in alot of time.

Micro was tons more fun though and I didn't mind studying hard for it.

I loved A&P, I think if your truely interested in something it will be easy but if your forcing yourself to do it then not so easy. I found myself asking questions that had me looking up the answer in the latter sections of the book while we were still in chapter one.

I am in AP1 right now... I wouldn't say it is "hard" just like others mentioned, very time consuming. There is a lot to learn in a short period of time. It is not hard to memorize information (for most people)...just eats up a lot of your time.

I truly admire the people here who are able to use the word "FUN"...I guess I am not quite able to have fun in any of those since the pressure of having to make A's is so great! It even annoys me if my current A&P2 teacher goofs around while lecturing, he even goofs around on his test questions which made me mess up on at least one question, it's like he is toying with us....I know he wants to be light because we are all tense but please.....we aren't trying to get into clown school and I wished he'd do a better job explaining this complicated stuff to us. The atmosphere in class is generally negative, people are grumpy and frustrated and may let their frustration out on A students if they get wind who did well. I have witnessed this too many times and been occasionally on the receiving end. The competitiveness just brings out the very worst in some. A day in school for me is like this, keep your head down, don't draw attention to yourself,get in class, survive without getting stabbed in the back, go home or hide in corner in study center, study study study for the next A. Our goofy prof and his goofiness seem to be the only one who truly having fun right along with the unserious students who discuss soap operas and last night's football game . (BTW the Aggies lost and it is currently not safe to go to a grocery store here in town) I'll have fun when it's all said and done again...when I see my grade on my transcript which HAS GOT TO BE AN A. ( I know it's not proper English to say it that way) I'll celebrate with my family.

Maybe I am turning into an old bat.......I need to change my icon to batwoman....I will be 47 this coming Saturday:jester:

I am really sorry your AP is going like that do you have other instructors there maybe for 102 you can switch.

Our AP class is fantastic and thankfully we can all just transition to 102 together too, I love our instructor and most of the people are really great too, its a hard course a ton of information in a short of amount of time. My instructor does something a little different that I haven't experienced before we have a few major 100Pt exams on key chapters, and then there are a few other exams that she prints out study guides for and we can take these exams on our own time before a certain deadline. So its up to you to keep up with the material. Our labs over lap I am on a weekend course and we are shortened a few days due to holidays in november so there really is a lot to cover. We have tons of work some days I am taking multiple exams we have a quiz every week too and 4 major practicals. However all that said I just love it! I spend even my free time there studying going over videos working on lab stuff etc...I am dreading micro next semester though because everyone has said the instructor is no good and we only have the one.

I have had classes where the whole class does poorly and the teacher can't teach intermediate Algebra and the Chemistry class I am taking now comes to mind it is terrible to be left in a class frustrated, my chem teacher prides himself on his failure rate, how that does the school any good is beyond me, but I am one of the few getting an A in his class it just means more work for me i guess.
