Do not buy any. The OR is full of pajamas with many to spare. It will cost you nothing and they will even clean them for you!
Haha I wish but the facility have a color-coded uniform policy.

I'd buy maybe 1-2 pairs above the number of days you're scheduled to work each week. So if you work 3 days a week, buy 4-5.

I've never worked in a facility that has the color code system, so I have acquired quite the collection of scrubs over the last 7 years. I would personally buy enough for the work week, plus one extra set. So if you work 3 12-hr shifts, I'd buy 4 pairs. You could get away with buying less if you don't mind doing laundry more often.

Agreed with some predecessors... buy one more set than you're scheduled to work each week. I keep a clean set in my car just in case somebody barfs, poops, pees, or bleeds on me.

I have 6-7 but I like to dress in really cute scrubs so it's a frivolity for me, I think functionally you could do like 3-4. Guess it depends on how frequently you work/launder/ and how many you want.

I own 2 weeks worth, in my case 6 sets. It takes the pressure off to to do laundry and buys me some time if the washer/dryer dies.

I guess I'm the odd ball out. I work 5 days a week and have about 13 pairs of scrubs.. I work full time, mom to a toddler, pregnant, and in school FT for my BSN- I don't have time to do laundry and iron every weekend for work. I also have a separate laundry area for work clothes so I can keep up with regular clothes:D

Not odd. I guess I would be worse because I work 3-4 days a week and have 18-20 sets. I probably wear 15 sets regularly (other ones little to tight, little too loose). I like lots of sets because my husband does the laundry and who can complain about that? But sometimes he might go 8-10 days between laundry days and I like to have enough to make it through, plus I like cute scrubs of course.
But to start out, I would get enough to get through 1 week's shifts and build from there as you can.

I worked in a facility that didn't have color coding... I went crazy and have about 14 sets right now. Of course, I don't know that I will ever use them again.
